Pages get deleted from one of the following reasons:

1. A page was created by mistake, and the creator asked for deletion.
2. A page was renamed, and the original name is deemed unnecessary.
3. A page is deemed blatantly unnecessary by an administrator.
4. A talk page is usually deleted when a page is deleted.
5. An old page is unmaintained and contains no historical value. In this case the page will usually be first marked with {{delete}} followed by a bit of discussion.
