rubber cutlass
Plural: rubber cutlasses
While it's not the best weapon in the world, it's certainly safe. I'm not sure if that's what you want when wading into battle, though. It's pretty light, I guess. And it'll embarrass your foe; I mean, who wants to admit they've been beaten with a rubber sword?
