You are fighting an inverted shadow.

When everything is completely dark, and most creatures don't even have eyes, the silent lurker needs to be glowing white to be a proper shadow. At least, that's how the theory goes. It's a stupid theory, really.

• The shadow grips your arm, but your thermal underwear keeps the cold out.
• The shadow reaches through your chest, but can't grip anything while it's insubstantial.
• The shadow tries to poke you in the eyes, but you block with a well-placed open-palm gesture.

Fumble messages:

Your foe fumbles! It takes X damage.

Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!
