Minstrel's Story hint book
Plural: Minstrel's Story hint books
While Minstrel's Story is actually a computer game, there's a lot of back story included; it even has a few sample songs. Ah, for the good old days when games loaded in a ton of history and information, as opposed to just lists and cheats. Why, they were even written in character! Can you imagine such a thing today?
Of course, between your day job and beating up bad guys at night, you don't have much time for video games, classic or otherwise. Your sidekick, on the other hand, is an actor. Which is a nice way of saying "unemployed".

Miscellaneous Item
Item cannot be auto-sold
Usable
Gives your sidekick understudy a new skill.
How Obtained
- Available for 10 silver stars during November of 2011.
- Available for 10 silver stars during November of 2011.
First time:
Your understudy spends more time cross-referencing things in the hint book than actually playing, but the game seems pretty disjointed. Having to play greensleeves at the title screen? Dissolving ghosts in carbonated beverages? A horse with fins flying off into space?
It's all very confusing, but your sidekick just eats it up. That still doesn't explain where the lute and crazy hat came from, though.
Your sidekick learns a role: Minstrel.
Subsequent times:
Your sidekick already knows all about Minstrel's Story.
During the Cat and Mick-y Mouse Game quest:
Your kidnapped sidekick isn't available for training right now. The whole being kidnapped thing, you know.
Notes
- When bought: You hand over 10 silver stars. The old man's eyes twinkle as he hands you the battered hint book.
References
- Refers to The Bard's Tale video game. The clue book text for the original game can be seen here: http://bardstale.poverellomedia.com/thebardstale-cheats.html
