Fan

You are fighting the Fan.

You'd think that a fan would be no big deal (as long as you kept your fingers out of it), but when you're small enough to go inside a computer, it's a different story. The dust it blows around are as big as mountains. Now you know how that moth in the Harvard Mark II must have felt.
Your opponent attacks ...

Hit messages:

  • The Fan blows one of those dust mountains at you. It's not a direct hit, obviously, but just being clipped smarts.
  • The Fan kicks into high speed and blows you back, bouncing you off a dust mountain. It's pretty hard on your allergies.
  • The Fan reverses direction and starts sucking you towards it! You manage to avoid being diced, but you're shaken by the experience. (psychic) damage

It hits you for X damage.

Critical hit message:

Your opponent has a critical hit! It hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

  • The Fan blows a dust mountain at you, but you heroically dive out of the way.
  • The Fan kicks into high speed and blows you back, but you manage to avoid hitting anything sharp or painful.
  • The Fan reverses direction, pulling you closer, but you're saved by some dude in a tiny Winnebego who switches it from suck to blow.

Fumble messages:

Your foe fumbles! It takes X damage.

Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!

You gain (?, cap 300) experience.

You got an item: fanblades Fanblade.gif (Guaranteed Drop)

Known resistances/weaknesses

50% weak to electric damage.

Notes

  • At the end of every turn (even if it is stunned), one of the following messages appear the normal attack:
    • A whine echoes through the area as the Fan's motor powers up.
    • A horrible crunching sound echoes through the area as the Fan powers through a layer of dust.
  • After at least two turn, the Fan deals a large amount of damage with the following message after the normal attack:
    • The Fan roars to life, trapping you in a terrible whirlwind and battering you against other components for X.
  • Using Tornado resets the timer, and gives the following message:
    • You summon a powerful miniature tornado, which spins the Fan violently in the wrong direction. It looks dizzy... well, as dizzy as fans look, and deals X damage.
