GigaGuy cannon
Plural: GigaGuy cannons
A color-changing hero named GigaGuy once used this cannon to take a particularly wily villain to task and bring the city back from the brink of darkness and return it to light. After that he apparently had to rush off to some other city to put down a nearly identical plot devised by the same villain and some imitation cohorts, and in the process apparently he left all of his weapons behind.

This thing is tricked out with a number of attachments on the cannon, which seem to be able to do quite a few different things, up to and including scrambling eggs. Or frying them. Or blowing them up. Any of the above, actually.

Ranged weapon (Unknown)
Power: 10
Item cannot be auto-sold

+X offense power (+10/level, max: +100).
+1 extra attack(s) per turn.

How Obtained

The Wok of Stars

Other Uses

  • When equipped, grants combat skills:
  • GigaGuy rapid boomerang (3pp)
You trigger the rapid boomerang option on your cannon. A series of tiny little metal boomerangs rapidly shoot out from the cannon, ricochet off of your opponent, and somehow return to the gun. Your opponent takes X damage.
or against metallic foes
You trigger the rapid boomerang option on your cannon. A series of tiny little metal boomerangs rapidly shoot out from the cannon, ricochet off of your opponent, and somehow return to the gun. The little boomerangs shred your opponent's metal casing badly, dealing 150 damage.
  • GigaGuy small fire atom (4pp) (see notes)
You trigger the fire atom release on your GigaGuy cannon. A small fireball whooshes out at your opponent. It burns your foe for X (fire) damage.
  • GigaGuy fire atom (5pp) (see notes)
You trigger the fire atom release on your GigaGuy cannon. A mid-sized fireball blasts your opponent. It burns your foe for X (fire) damage.
  • GigaGuy large fire atom (6pp) (see notes)
You trigger the fire atom release on your GigaGuy cannon. A gigantic fireball explodes from the cannon and engulfs your opponent. It burns your foe for X (fire) damage.
  • GigaGuy lead sphere (7pp)
You fire off a lead sphere. Wait, is that lead as in made of heavy metal, or lead as in something you follow? You're not sure, but you can't imagine a dense metal being a light, floaty bubble. Then again, as the sphere just rolls to your opponent, it's not leading you anywhere. The greyish bubble pops and sticks all over your opponent, apparently weighing them down.
  • GigaGuy crashing bomb (10pp) (only once per combat round)
You fire a crashing bomb from the cannon. True to its name, the projectile crashes and then explodes in a cloud of smoke and debris. Your opponent is badly stunned.
  • When equipped, sometimes after combat:

You got an item: GigaGuy capsule Gigaguy-capsule.gif

  • When equipped, sometimes after combat:

You got an item: GigaGuy pellet Gigaguy-pellet.gif

Notes

  • Both items can drop after combat, but no more than one of each.
  • The fire atom skill available increases every combat turn it is not used. It starts with not being available at all, then small fire atom, fire atom, and finally large fire atom.
  • See talk page for list of foes considered metallic.
  • When first introduced the capabilities above remained active even when the item was unequipped, or even when the item was no longer in your possession. This was quickly fixed.

References

  • GigaGuy bares a striking resemblance, in nature and action, to Mega Man, a color-changing, ability-absorbing, robotic hero who faced off against Dr. Wily, with the aid of his robo-dog, Rush in several very similar adventures.
