== Blind Leader's Guide ==

 When I started playing, I wanted to find everything myself, but in the end resorted to the wiki for things I needed but kept overlooking in the game.

 This then, is a page of things I wish I knew earlier, and while far from spoiler free, will exclude details that can be found easily by good old-fashioned exploring.

 As new as I am at the time of writing, this may well be the "Blind leading the blind", but if it proves useful all the same, then well and good.

== Jumping & Flying ==

 Both [[Special_abilities#Super_Jumping|super jumping]] and [[Special_abilities#Flying|flying]] abilities are needed to fulfil quests in this game and to properly explore Twilight.

 The simplest way to super-jump is to make your own [[high-jump boots]], using some [[army boots]] and the [[taut sinew]] that you take from an unlucky desert lizard.

 Once you have super jumping, you can get to the [[Rooftops of downtown|rooftops]] by dodging taxis in [[the streets of downtown Twilight|the streets Downtown]]. Up on those rooftops you can find a place to hire a flying vehicle.

 Eventually, though, you will want your own flying machine, such as a [[jetpack]]. Well, you probably want one already, but [[Jetpack Assembly Table|building one]] can take a while.

== Fighting [[The Mick]] ==

 This is a big fight. It seems especially hard for Gadgeteers (who may find it hard to hit their target), but it is meant to be tough, and preparation is needed. Review everything you are wearing, every spell you are running, and every item you use (and consume) before you commit to this fight.

 Run as many '''effects''' as possible. Apart from helping to win the battle, it seems to affect the likelyhood of rewards.

 Favoured items used to produce these effects include the potions on my [[User:Richardhg|home page]], plus:
* [[Boot polish]],
* [[Ginseng supplement]],
* [[Powdered gingko]],
* [[Squidopus ink]],
* Various [[Bottle of pills|pills]],
* What can be best described by saying "''Bang the'' [[Cosmic crystals|rocks]] ''together guys!''"

 Finally, if you fail repeatedly, try a different tactic, including waiting a level or two before trying again!
 

== Retcon ==

 When you have the opportunity to [[Retcon]], examine the possibilities that are offered carefully.

 You should prepare a checklist of things to do before you press the button that commits you to it.

*Are you using any [[positronic computer|positronic computers]] yet? Then make two [[electronic computer|electronic computers]] and swap them over first. That way you keep the better (and harder to make) machines, losing the more easily replaceable ones instead. (I have forgotten to do this more than once and it is ''incredibly'' annoying!)

*Make another two electronic computers before you "retcon".

*Assemble anything useful so that you can grab it already assembled from Deep Storage.
**This includes [[fortified coffee]]...
**...and [[software]].

*Consider buying [[Large_chip|large chips]] at the [[Platinum Pagoda Money Changers|money-changers]] at the Casino. You may not need them if you are economical with your [[gold coin|gold coins]], but they're good to have in reserve.

*Some XP boosters are especially effective at low level, allowing you to get to 2nd level very quickly. I favour taking a [[blue pill]] to use immediately after Retcon, and a [[memory box]] to use during your first combat.

*Plan ahead with respect to which skill to make permanent, and ensure your options will give you at least enough [[Metal medal of mettle|mettle]] to do so.
 

== Transmogrifier ==

 There is a [[Talismans_(hideout)|Talisman Transmogrifier]]. It will revert you to Level 1 in a different class.

*Don't do it.

*If you are foolish enough to try...
**Do it only at low levels. Preferably Level 1. Until you get back to your original level, the "Adrenalin Rushes" you get for going up a level will only give you 5 min, rather than the usual 60 min.
**Do not do it just before you [[Retcon]]. Do it after.
**Avoid going up more levels than you absolutely have to until you have settled on the final class you want for this run.
