During normal fights, sometimes (randomly? I have seen psi attacks and crits without this triggering, but I have seen it multiple time in a row in the same combat)

Probably blocks the attack (it's hard to tell with high level character)

Nothing for stun gas, kangaroo punch, shock grenade, electric net. 
Works several times in the same combat even for the same spell.

Looks like it increases critical multiplier by +1 (I have other sources of +spell damage and +spell% damage, but this is the same *2 as normal critical damage, and critical imagination is *3)
