I was always intrigued by this item's wiki page, but I think some of you older players may be taking for granted the information you have been casually given access to over the course of Alpha and early Beta. Here's the thing. Me and Valera and Cris were itching for a use for the pinata (it did not always have a use link). One day, after the harness had been implemented, I decided to suggest to Ryme the harnessed pinata combination, a transportation, as a joke. Cris and Valera evolved that idea into this beast. Given the wiki's youth, I think it'd be useful to post links to ongoing discussions about standards for how we want the wiki to look/what it should contain. Well, I'll give it a go on the main page with some opinion that may or may not be welcome. TH is a GREAT concept. But right now, it really is just a concept. I'm not sure it's even ready for Beta yet. I'm a very, very casual game player, and I exhausted it in three weeks. There's too much that is yet-to-be implemented. The atmosphere is terrific (seriously, awesome sense of urban dismal), the classes are neat but need serious work (what's the point in being a gadgeteer if you can only make a couple of gadgets?), but the real problem is that there is so little to do.

Can I see it being a very fun and successful game? Yes. Is it ready to be live and on the 'net? No.

Good luck, and please persevere. I'll check back sometime.

I'm not sure you understand what the point of a Beta version is... It doesn't necessarily have to be complete. It doesn't have to have tons of content. It doesn't even have to have every feature nailed. As long as it's playable, that's all that matters. From the perspective of the creator, we're there as test subjects to run through to discover bugs, as it's very time consuming to do so and we'll think of things to try that Ryme might not (although, I am certain that he also wants us to enjoy the game). In any case, it is up for beta, and maybe you'll check back some time. - Satan

A few things. First, for this page, and many other template pages I've seen, the combat messages read like this: "Your opponent attacks ... Your opponent has a critical hit! {{{fumpro}}} hits for {{{crit}}} damage." {{{fumpro}}} and {{{crit}}} look odd and don't necessarily scream out their intended meanings. I mean, you get it through context, but it looks fugly. Is this the intended result for variables like character name and damage? "Isn't there a better way?", asked the exasperated infomercial actress with the malfunctioning colander.

Second, how can an encounter be "semi-rare to very rare in frequency"? I would think that rarity - the percentage chance of a player encountering said content - would be some hard-coded constant. Like, 0.0001% or something. We may not know the exact number, but how could it be less rare for one person than it is for another? Should we simply change that part (the notes section) to "This is an ultra-rare adventure. Precise numbers regarding the chance of encountering it are currently unknown" or some such thing?

Well, people are supposed to fill those variables in. However, the combat pages are and always have been lacking in templating. I'm the one who made the template as complex as it is now, so I may've just made it worse, but it's alot easier to use for someone who's used to working with templates. I've been fairly inactive on adding stuff to the wiki since the initial transfer and my template creating, but I plan to make more contributions eventually, when I'm not as busy/lazy. When that happens, those things'll be correctly substituted with the right values. - Satan

I made a slightly-more-than-minor edit to the page. This is my first attempt at editing so I'd appreciate feedback. In short, I moved the row entry for the Brad's Energy Drink to the top of the table. The rest of the table had been arranged in order of each consumable's Time/Caffeine efficiency, so it made sense to continue that. == Analysis ==
Caffeine toleration is your character's maximum level of caffeine per day. Every item has a set caffeine level, and every person has a set caffeine toleration of 12 (unless content comes out that alters your caffeine toleration). As such, knowing the caffeine level of an item can help you see if you're wasting chips/caffeine in your day. While some items may appear to be less effective, it may end up that due to their caffeine level, they're more useful than a higher time yielding item. The basic calculation for efficiency is to take 12, the caffeine toleration, divide it by the caffeine level, round down, and multiply it by the time given. This, of course, does not take into account difficulty to obtain items or bad side effects. Here's a rough chart, in order from least to most effective, effectiveness being higher for items that you need to use less of for the same amount of time (for convenience, denote coffee shop items as being every item in the coffee shop except the herbal tea):

Fortified coffee leaves room for 2 caffeine as well, so it could be brought up to 3.5 hours a day, or 3 hours and 35 minutes, with the same items. White pills leave room for 4 more caffeine, which brings their total to 4 hours with gingers, or 4 hours and 10 minutes with pepperjuice.

The [[Scalpel energy drink]] yields the same results as the [[Bray energy drink]]. The [[Dose of X-presso]] has the same yield as the [[Guatemalan pepperjuice]] but without the bad side effects. The [[white pill]] has a good side-effect ([[Euphoria]]) and then a very bad side-effect following it ([[Utter Wretchedness]]), so it's best think carefully before using.
