So far I have tried: goldfinger gloves, box pill, philtre of fortune, wearing an outfit of pure xentrium (xentrium crossbow, xentrium helm, xentrium gloves, xentrium breastplate, xentrium breeches, xentrium boots, xentrium shield), irrhodium socket set, using the golden ticket, lead pipe, and a maxed out (20%) critical chance.

First spotted this sidekick around 2020 with the help of Yurick, turns out this and the Night Owl are the sidekicks added with a shared requirement. Yurick told me that "Kinak did say that this sidekick was a hint to something else" and that "Kinak said it's not just brute force on the Auric quest. He said maybe having a certain item equipped or having a certain effect active." Have adventured and faced the chemist and alchemist multiple times since then but still only get the "no headway" message. Adding that i tried: golden apple, foyal crown, with the philtre of fortune, plump with laughter with no success

Tried a few more stuff. 50% acid resistance, 150% Chips modifier, 20+ acid damage, +1 all elemental damage. Still nothing. Might try getting 20+ fire and electric damage next.

Fairly certain this is obtained by wearing [[skeptic sandals]] while [[Spelunking]]. Yurick originally pointed me to Spelunking, and said lower levels might have a better chance at getting one but that it wasn't a guarantee. Yurick also says Kinak confirmed that it's once per retcon and tricky to get.

Tried this on a level 9 account and a level 60 account, obtained the crystal both times. Needs confirmation, however.

The mayday bell sort of replicates the foe. Upon use on a foe that 'has allies', it says that the foe's allies are coming to his, and after the fight + a few turns the same foe that the bell was used on fights you again.

Hey guys, the 3 items here (Shadow Mist's Iron Scythe, Captain Nocturnal's Serpent Skin Pants, Pawn of Destruction) are what appeared for me after my first retcon run with a 12-mettle Naturalist (no food or sidekick restrictions, 5 pulls/day, no skills). I guess we can't say for sure what unlocked what, although it seems likely that the scythe and pants are class-related. A Grimdark (17 mettle, max points except for full consumables) gadgeteer run got me 2 pieces of gear, the pawn and the avatar. So apparently sugarless unlocks caffeine, and presumably caffeine-less unlocks sugar. I wonder if naturally hyper unlocks something special. -- TeKRunneR

It's nice that everyone is adding new items, but it would be good if we agree on some kind of way of ordering items. My propositions: 
1) alphabetically - the most obvious one, though not too good imo 
2) by mettle cost - also quite obvious, but again there are better solutions

:I consistently got the bungee with five or six derby runs in one month. I did get a humvee on an alt with just one run in total, but that run also won highest mettle (epee) and fastest (frisbee). Humvee might simply be for winning multiple best/runnerup mettle/speed categories. I think the secret behind the degree is simply getting to level 12, regardless of how long it takes.
