Over time your public choices as a hero will begin to give you a reputation with the population of Twilight. Be careful what you choose, because while some people are bound to appreciate your choices, others are guaranteed to disapprove. Some may say you're the ideal hero, while others might label you a menace. Reputations can change as you make other choices over time.

Hint: choices that affect your reputation only occur while you're patrolling, and they almost always include the phrase "What do you do?" as part of the choice.

==How to Change Your Reputation==

Reputation is based on a combination of factors, including your response to various non-combat "choice" adventures.

In order to change your reputation, you'll need to travel around the city. Visiting the same choice adventure two or more times in a row has little or no effect on your reputation (unless you select a different choice).

* Honorable or dishonorable choices you make during [[That Man's Father Is My Father's Son|That Man's Father]] and [[Glove Slap, Baby]] and [[Shipping Clerk]] and [[Two Paths Diverged in a Prehistoric Wood]] can move you up or down on the grid.
* Solitary or community choices you make during [[Pick Yer Poison]] and [[A Dilemma of the Horns]] and [[Intermission]] can move you left or right on the grid.

==Effects of Reputation==

* Being selfless (right column of the grid) allows you to visit the [[Robotics Club]] (where you can buy the [[robotics kit]]).
* Being self-interested (left column of grid) allows you to visit the [[League of Self Promoters]] (where you can hire the [[Publicist]]).

there are at least 2 different messages here. as honorable and virtuous, i got the anarchy one listed in the article. as pragmatic, watchdog, and vigilante i got "You're in St. Anne Park, one of the larger and nicer public spaces in the city. Even at night it's a busy place, full of life and activity. It's one of the few places where people still feel safe to gather. Banners near one large gathering indicate that one group is a meeting of the "Goody Two Shoes Neighborhood Watch." It sounds innocent enough, you're met with sternly disapproving frowns even at a distance. It's clear that they know who you are and don't think well of you." and as balanced and altruist there is no message its just"You're in St. Anne Park, one of the larger and nicer public spaces in the city. Even at night it's a busy place, full of life and activity. With Just, I got "You're in St. Anne Park, one of the larger and nicer public spaces in the city. Even at night it's a busy place, full of life and activity. It's one of the few places where people still feel safe to gather. There appears to be one particularly unruly mob of anarchists gathering in a large boxy building for some sort of meeting. Their signs have slogans like "Anarchy = freedom" and other relatively innocent-sounding catchprases, but their glares as you stand nearby make it clear that they know who you are and don't think well of you." Within moments of being activated, the red robot starts running around, pestering and annoying everything in sight. Man, that's one obnoxious sidekick. (Duration: 120 minutes.)

==Getting To The Robotics Club For Complete Airheads==

I'm dropping this here because I don't know where to put it, but here's a mini guide to getting that selfless reputation you need to access the club. Perhaps it's redundant because there's a list in the reputation talk page, but this is for the folk who like things...simple.

In order to get into the Robotics Club, you have to be on the community end of the (solitary/community) scale. The way this works (well, as close as I can get with a theory):

*There's a hidden "meter" in the game that keeps track of what kind of reputation you're leaning towards with certain choices in some non-combat adventures. It'll only remember the last several choices you made, so at a certain point past choices are completely forgotten in the grand scheme of things.
*You have to pick the same type of response consistently, or else the game will clear out the meter, and you'll have to start building up to a reputation shift again.
*The meter won't grow unless you use different adventures. Encountering the same adventure repeatedly won't do you any good.

Since you want community, pick these choices:

*In "Intermission" (Cube Theater), pick the more worn path to signal your support for the community, which is to the right.
*In "Dilemma of the Horns" (streets of Downtown Twilight), solve the gridlock because the other choice is more personal, and we're trying to move away from that. More importantly, the people of Twilight need you!
*In "Pick Yer Poison" (City of Lost Robots), go with the Gingerette Black, because going along with the crowd means going along with the community.

Remember to "cycle" through these adventures. As soon as you hit one and make the choice, go to another area to look for the adventure there. Then go to the third area after that. And then return to the first. It'll happen in no time.

After you've gotten Virtuous/Altruist/Watchdog, you'll be able to access the Robotics Club from the University. There, you can buy unlimited (untradeble) robotics kits that you can weld to different metals. Try infernium. Heck, even cybertronium works.

On the other hand, we all know what happens when you fuse one to an infernal pinata....

Feel free to point out any glaring flaws in this guide.

Yes I'm sure about exit right. The thing is it does not do anything to do the same thing after each other. You have to switch locations to get this just like all the other reputations. Follow the steps
I wrote down and you'll get it. Don't try for the same non-combat adventure more then once, if you have it witch to the other one. Mischal

Actually, both actions only work on one scale (solitary/community), and the way to get virtuous is by using two scales (getting community on one and honorable on the other), so this is pretty much wrong. They can certainly be edited, but it would be nice if the edits made sense. Will anybody ever use that algebraic mess that was added? Is it anything more than a somewhat amusing way of showing how complicated the recipe is? [[User:Cristiona|Cristiona]]

The image is neat. The formula is neat. But do we really need half of this page taken up by cute, overcomplicated, functionally useless things? Are either honestly going to help ''anybody'' build a Jetpack? The formula should go on a user's page, and the image should be reduced to a link.
