Looks like his purpose may be moving along the assembly of the space station. Once I visited the ruin for Susan I got the following message after two fight with Alpha:
* Some of these parts look like they use similar technology that mysterious gate. You drop it off with Susan Novak to see if she can make anything of it.
Interesting indeed. I have a feeling when I use pick cheese, it will give me 2 intellect. So it's entirely possible there's something determining the gain in stats (either 1 or 2, from the looks of it) and the type of stat separately. I think each one is pre-disposed towards a particular stat, but the relative values of your base stats influences which it gives... These values were obtained with 2 level 57 alts, in the The Farthest Reaches of Insanity, since all foes scale. Damages to crawling mist weren't considered due to its weaknesses.<br> Values from both alts with same STR and offence power are equal and fit well on the graphics, proving only STR and offence values matter.<br> Adding 10 levels to one of the alts didn't change the ranges significantly (1-2 point difference can be accounted to math roundings and/or possible effects of the foe's scaling mechanic).<br> Some of the regressions were better fitter by polynomial functions instead of a linear fit, however both options had and R squared above 0.99 so the simplest fit was picked.<br> Please note that the formula I reached might be off in non scaling foes weaker than you, mainly because foe defence is accounted and there's no way for me to figure that out.
: In the end, I arrived to the following formula: Round { 8.5 + (SP*0.05 + 0.2 + 0.017)*STR + (0.3 ± 0.1)*Offence ±(-4.5) }
There's an option to download the file if you're having trouble seeing the graphics, let me know if you think I made a mistake somewhere.<br>
:I'm still not certain offense has even that big of a hand in the damage distribution. Between the bat and the staff, there should've been some noticeable difference with .2-.4 range, but I got nothing. The skill also does the same damage to each level of mechapinata, so unless they all had the same defense, it completely ignores foe defense. - Satan End of Time, 17 March 2013 (CDT)
:: Did you miss the part where I only change the offence power and, consistently, different values show up? I believe it's pretty clear it plays a relevant role.<br> Regarding pinatas, I do believe they all have the same defence, yeah.<br>Anyway, its easy to check, go kill a foe in insanity and in the canonball tavern, one has values adjusted to you, the other to level 1. Patojonas 16:19, 17 March 2013 (PDT)
:::Pinatas have levels and damage caps. While all pinatas in a given rank have the same stats (eg: all scouts are the same) they differ across ranks. Checking my "notes" on the skill, weapon power is supposed to be a factor with the damage. The problem is it's pretty hinky, and +% damage boosts aren't factored in. I believe they're applied after the skill finishes figuring everything out, so testing with, say, a Torch is going to screw things up.Cristiona (talk) 21:09, 17 March 2013 (PDT)
::: Weapon damage boosts apply even though its a skill? I at least know for sure that the damage bonus from Thewsday doesn't apply to this. Patojonas 10:13, 18 March 2013 (PDT)
:::Yes, different ranks of pinatas all take the same amount of damage. I was unaware of damage 'caps'. How do these work? I was doing around 700 damage to all ranks of pinatas, switching between the sceptre (666 power) and bat (5 power). Doubling STR added around 350 damage, so it's not like there's a hard damage cap. Is it a soft damage cap, where only a certain amount of damage goes through, and then the rest gets dampened? You'd still expect some sort of variation in the damage, it makes zero difference whether you're using the bat or the sceptre. The pinatas are the only thing I've been paying attention to when using the skill, so it's possible there's just some weirdness going on with their damage mechanics that's causing the skill not to behave like it normally would. -- Satan (For This) Ain't Nobody Got Time, 18 March 2013 (CDT)

You weld your Paradox Naught to the inside of the box, carefully avoiding the cat, and close the lid. It simultaneously is and is not dividing by zero, but the Naught is already the sum of all things divided by zero making not dividing by zero a paradox and... the universe reboots and you end up with this sweet belt!
You got an item: 1 Futility Belt (paradox naught is now weldable, + schrodinger's box = futility belt)

You search through your futility belt, throwing bombs and grappling hooks and gadgets in every direction. Either one of your gadgets vaporized your opponent or it got bored and wandered off.

You really should work on organizing this belt sometime.

Wow. It'll be a bit before you can do that again. You gain an effect: Nova Recovery (Added for 120 minutes.) (free runaway)

You find a roll of bandages in your futility belt. Handy!

You heal 26 HP. (under sidekick, above enemy; level 41)

Your belt's grappling hook shoots out, wrapping around your opponent and dragging you closer than you're comfortable slow-dancing. (melee weapon)

Your belt's grappling hook shoots out into the distance, dragging you away from your opponent. (ranged weapon)

You reach into your futility belt and pull out a crime detector. As you'd expect in Twilight, it just roars constantly and flashes red lights. Your opponent is almost as annoyed by the noise as you are distracted.

Your futility belt starts ringing, but by the time you figure out how to pick up, they're gone.

You find a grenade in your futility belt. It'd probably be more helpful if it came with a pin.

It explodes as you try to find a place to toss it, dealing you 67-134 fire damage. (level 41)

Your belt's grappling hook shoots out into the distance, dragging you away from your opponent. That'll make it pretty hard to use your <weapon name>. (melee weapon)

You rush up, closing the distance with your opponent. (attack message after previous)

You rush back, opening up some distance between you and your opponent. (attack message after previous)

You find a smokebomb in your futility belt. It fills the area with smoke, but you and your opponent just bump back into each other in the dark for a while.

You find a smokebomb in your futility belt. It fills the area with smoke.

You're not sure if your opponent <i>meant</i> to run away or just got lost, but in either case, they're gone when the smoke clears. (time is taken, no xp)

You find an entire neon sign in your futility belt. It reads "Eat at {<sidekick name>,<player name>,Joe}'s".

Your futility belt dispenses a cool glass of water. Ahh, that hits the spot! You regain 19-21 PP. (level 41)

You reach into your futility belt and find a pat of melted butter. What? What sort of lunatic would keep butter in their belt?

You gained effect: Finger-licking Fingers (Added for 15 minutes.) (http://www.twilightheroes.com/popup.php?skill=664)

You find a can of {Animal,Criminal} Repellent in your futility belt. Where is this stuff when you need it?

This sidekick specialty appears to be able to ignore both resistances and weaknesses to ice damage with its attacks. Fought a battle drone (50% ice resist), my ice bolt did half damage as expected, but my sidekick did not. Similar results against a tormented hero (50% weak to ice). My ice bolt did 1.5 times normal damage, but my sidekick's damage output was unaffected. World Wizard 17:37, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Here's my estimate of the formula: Damage is 1*Level to (1*Level)+2, and XP is (1*Level)-1 to (1*Level)+2, except for Levels 1-3, which only have 1*Level to (1*Level)+2. It would be nice if we get more XP data from Levels 1-3. --PKProStudio 17:54, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

According to the previous data with Judo Kid Gloves, 3 XP can occur at Level 3, which means that the unaffected XP was 2, so it confirms (1*Level)-1 at Level 3. We still need to confirm that (1*Level)-1 happens at Level 2. If it happens at Level 1, it would be 0 XP, but I don't know if it will do that or not. --PKProStudio 20:18, 4 August 2009 (UTC)

Ignoring resistances and weaknesses
Isn't it a bug that the sidekick damage ignores both resistances and weaknesses? What good is ice damage otherwise? Does this happen with other elementally-aligned sidekicks? --Lxndr 08:06, 4 January 2011 (PST)
Minigun Strafings:<br>

Damage:<br>
Feathergod dealt 4319, Reigna dealt 3250, Aewyre dealt 1899, and Okarin dealt 707

Here's what I did, might work some other way, I'm not sure about what it is keeping track:

First Okarin got on a chopper and then strafing 6 times, took 2 turns I think. Then Reigna, from the ground, hit it for the damage specified above. Then Aewyre strafing 6 times. Then Feathergod, like Reigna hit twice for about 1500 damage. Then Aewyre strafinged 5 times. Then Feathergod hit until I saw the "unsteady walk" pace. Then Aewyre dealt 4 strafings and back to Feathergod who killed it.

Again, I dunno what does it track, but I noticed that the first hit from the ground after strafing those numbers had a special attack with little or no damage. Also, I didn't see any confusion messages but I didn't pay attention while strafing. Hopefully if Cristiona's theory works she might be able to tell what is going on. Patojonas 04:24, 15 November 2012 (PST)

----

Managed to get a second onesie by replicating the above strategy, records are:

Minigun Strafings:<br>
Okarin fired 19 and Aewyre fired 6.

Damage:<br>
Feathergod dealt 3684, Reigna dealt 3051, Okarin dealt 2706, and Aewyre dealt 743

So this is what I think is needed:
*<del>First, make sure that everyone that fights the orwhal starts the fight with the ground image (no flying nor superjump, get an hot rodimus if you really want range 5).</del>
*Now, to the strategy, you'll want to make the orwhal change her focus every time you switch with another player. The attention the orwhal is giving you can be checked in the special attack messages, unless those messages damage you, you still don't have it.
:Have the first strafing player (air unit) straf for at least 6 times, that should be enough to draw her attention, if not keep strafing until you get it, 6 has been enough for me.
:Then have a ground player(ground unit) deal damage until the fight ends, my alts are high level so with a furnace 1 turn is enough for ~3000 damage. in any case, have the ground player attack until the end of the turn where the orwhal give you her attention.
:Here you switch to a second air unit and straf until you get her attention.
:Then switch to a second ground unit that does the same as the second.
In my alts at this point I keep switching between the 2nd air and 2nd ground units, as described in my last entry.

The key points I've been able to determine are always starting from the ground and switching the orwhal's attention back and forth between air and ground units. This'll mean the ground units can't contribute for the ultrataffy. Probably bigger leagues could employ more air units instead of just those 2.

<del>I believe the whole thing is related to the Orwhal's confusion messages (didn't get any when succeding in making the onesie drop), but can't figure their trigger.</del>Patojonas 11:27, 17 November 2012 (PST)

----
Minigun Strafings:<br>
Okarin fired 16 and Aewyre fired 7.

Damage:<br>
Reigna dealt 3633, Feathergod dealt 3501, Okarin dealt 2439, and Aewyre dealt 926

Got the onesie again today following the same strategy except for the fact that my first air unit had flying ability so it seems that at least for those starting in the air is not a problem. Also, I saw at least 2 confusion messages so I guess those are unrelated to the trigger. Patojonas 06:59, 18 November 2012 (PST)

----

On my main's league, we believe we followed the strategy correctly but it didn't drop. Either its not a guaranteed drop (which i doubt once the conditions are met), we did something wrong or my alts have been following some kind of requirement by default I haven't noticed :/ Patojonas 15:09, 18 November 2012 (PST)

----

PFE tried some new stuff today to no avail. We had one person strafe, and immediately another person would attack, then the same person strafes and the same person alternates and so forth until the end of the turn. Then we had people switch in for the roles of strafing and attacking, so everyone attacked and everyone strafed atleast once. However several of us were using flying transportation and this probably affected the outcome.
Added ultrataffy to your League Vault.<br>

*First, make sure that everyone that fights the orwhal starts the fight with the ground image (no flying nor superjump, get an hot rodimus if you really want range 5).

I believe the whole thing is related to the Orwhal's confusion messages (didn't get any when succeding in making the onesie drop), but can't figure their trigger. Patojonas 11:27, 17 November 2012 (PST)

Got the onesie again today following the same strategy except for the fact that my first air unit had flying ability so it seems that at least for those starting in the air is not a problem. Also, I saw at least 2 confusion messages so I guess those are unrelated to the trigger. Patojonas (talk) 06:59, 18 November 2012 (PST)
On my main's league, we believe we followed the strategy correctly but it didn't drop. Either its not a guaranteed drop (which i doubt once the conditions are met), we did something wrong or my alts have been following some kind of requirement by default I haven't noticed :/ Patojonas (talk) 15:09, 18 November 2012 (PST)

You found an item for your League Vault: firewall fragment

You found an item for your League Vault: EOL drink

--hoyifung04 14:51, 14 October 2012 (PDT)

First drop seems to be one of Municipal Targeting Network, social net, or public eye. Second drop is either a conditional (fewer than 4 blue lawn darts used?) firewall fragment or (another one of the above?). The V.I.L.L.A.I.N. case and EOL drink always drop. --hoyifung04 06:46, 17 October 2012 (PDT)

EOL drink can drop 3 times in one battle. So it seems like the only item which hasn't dropped in the 1st two slots yet is the V.I.L.L.A.I.N. case, although it may just not have dropped yet. --Satan 13:30, 17 October 2012 (CDT)

How to Kill
Use a stick-on tattoo (to maximize damage, really big cut in the fight duration) equip a dongle or a switchboard garrote (to weaken it as much as possible, impossible to beat in 1 fight if you don't) and use tornado/Shock Grenade in the first 10-20 turns to make it fail a lot.

If you can, get a few Flash-restore capsules or drowsing rod ready just in case and use a potion of the indoors to minimize elemental damage, but you aren't likely to need if you have the dongle or garrote equipped. Use a sidekick like the jujitsu one to block attacks, was useful later to block the special attack damage later in the fight.

Lastly, use blue lawn darts to significantly weaken it and autoadventure script to attack for you, it has around 8000 HP. Patojonas 15:00, 14 October 2012 (PDT)
