I guess doing a (heirloom?) retcon with a titanico talisman replaces The Mick with Mr. Titan, with different drops (including this)? I must have fought over 1000 titanico employees and saw nothing special (only millions of chips) --XKiv (talk) 12:15, 9 January 2016 (PST)
: I just wrapped up an heirloom run with one of the talismans and fought Mr. Titanic. I'm trying a run with pulls currently as well as one of the talismans to see if an heirloom run is necessary. Given the way the mechanic looks it could be as straightforward as just having a yearly talisman equipped prior to fighting The Mick. I'll start putting together a page for Mr. Titanic the next time I have the encounter. Condensed version is you recognize The Mick is Mr. Titanic and The Mick takes growth serum to get titanic which confers a large buff. Completing combats in the Warehouse disrupts his supply making him more manageable. Just what his drops are/criteria are unknown as well as if The Mick's usual +FT criteria apply. It isn't as comprehensive as Hard Mode but is a nice change if you are bored of The Mick. I have a fixation on the yearly talismans though so I am biased. --Valmo (talk) 11:45, 14 January 2016 (PST)

*Your informant tells you to kill it with fire. It's usually sound advice.
*Your informant points out your opponent should buy a coat. What is he, their mom?
*Your informant tells you acid is always strong against this kind of opponents in games he plays.
*Your informant tells you electricity will make short work of this foe. You have no idea how he knows that.
*Your informant points out that your foe hates his awesome video game mix tape and is, therefore, vulnerable to sonic attack. You're... not sure that's quite right.
*Your informant says it should be easy to hurt your opponent's feelings, but that bullying is never cool... unless you're using psychic powers. Then it's awesome.
::If foe has no weaknesses then their defences are lowered by 1-3 points with the message:
*Your informant tells you to hit your opponent's weak point for massive damage. That was... sort of already the plan, but the extra eyes looking for weak points does help a little.
::If hard mode is currently active, one message pertaining to the foe's modifier(s):
*aquatic - Your informant bemoans how hard it is to dodge in water levels.
*arctic - Your informant points out it's slippery and that making physical attacks will be dangerous unless you're used to ice.
*cloudy - Your informant says the clouds will drift around and even strike you with electric.
*confusing - Your companion tries to help, but ends up getting turned around in the maze and just gets in the way.
*devouring - Your informant warns you that these guys mean business and will totally devour gear if you can't defeat them or ward off their acid.
*fighting - Your informant takes a moment to brag about how he's focused his skills getting the right moves in old fighting games.
*frusion - Your informant asks what you're fighting. When you tell him about the glow, he tells you it's probably "frusion energy," which drains heroes of their power and is extremely resistant to damage. Great.
*ghostly - Your informant peeks out between his fingers, noting both that he's afraid of ghosts and that, even though a spell can hurt them, it just makes them angrier.
*ghoulish - Your informant says you should be careful with these guys because they'll "drain your HPs," whatever an HP is.
*huge - Your informant looks up at your foe. "Well, it's just a giant version of a normal enemy. Hit it twice as hard and you should be fine."
*jumping - Your informant scowls. "Enemies shouldn't be jumping! That's all wrong. I guess you'll just have to jump that much higher."
*lava - Your informant stays well back of the lava and unhelpfully yells "watch out for fireballs and, whatever you do, don't fumble!"
*racing - Your informant looks down the track with an expression of terror, warning you to jump the obstacles and keep up speed.
*recolored - You informant yawns. "Different color means they're twice as hard, right? Well, shoudln't be a problem... as long as you can beat something twice as hard." He reconsiders his yawn.
*respawning - Your informant warns you that you'll have to beat this guy at least twice.
*talkative - Your informant tries to explain something about your enemy, but can't get a word in over the sonic.
*miniboss - Your informant looks worried. He says bosses are always immune to a ton of stuff and get harder just when you thought you've beaten them.
:After combat:
*At the end of the fight, your informant fills you in on the last game he played. It's actually pretty interesting. You gain 1-3 XP.
Anyway, you should probably figure out what it's good for before you start a new game. These things always seem to disappear when you restart.
Notes
Can be obtained from the following:
* 1-3 can be dropped by enemies marked as a miniboss. Looks to depend on the number of other modifiers present.
* 1-3 can be dropped by Villains. Based on the strength of the opponent.
* 1-2 can be dropped by various bosses big and small.

Valmo: Having the clock run out removes the score entry from the journal but does not abort the run.

Until more details are known and a proper format can be determined I will place my notes pertaining to too hard here.

What do I know about the new mode?
* You have 48 hours (or as listed in the journal at the start 172800 seconds) to save the city.
* There is some form or scoring metric in play for this mode.
* Pulling items from Deep Storage causes a release of pullonium which has an impact on your score.
* When the clock runs out the difficulty continues but the journal entry pertaining to your score is removed. It looks like at the very least it disqualifies you from the scoreboard. What other rewards if any that are also forfeited is unknown.
* Within this mode foes receive special modifiers and the boss mechanic has been tweaked.

The following modifiers have been observed with the new too hard talismans equipped. These notes are surely incomplete and it will probably take a while until all of the details are really pinned down. In earlier areas foes will only carry one modifier but towards the end of the run some areas will have foes with two modifiers which can lead to harsh combos. For example encountering an arctic lava foe for example would make a standard attack very risky.<br>
In late areas such as the Ancient Crypt opponents can be found with three modifiers. So do be careful post-run.

*aquatic - difficult to dodge if you can't breathe underwater

*arctic - immune to cold, increased chance of fumbles

*cloudy - immune to electricity, can draw closer, can inflict a large amount of electrical damage

*confusing - immune to psychic, sidekick has a chance to damage you instead, blocks the use of items

*devouring - immune to acid, chance to take an equipped item at the start of the fight, item returned on a win or destroyed on a loss.
::::Depending on the item taken they may also receive a buff. While the Recycler's bin appeared to do nothing having one take my baggy cargo pants gave it +15 Defense.
::::The item taken appears to have its own rule set so at the very least Wok items won't be taken.

*fighting - trying to use skills or items will result in a random skill being used

*frusion - behave similar to frusion opponents from a prior event

*ghostly - immune to physical, deals physical damage upon defeat that appears equal to your finishing blow

*ghoulish - absorbs hp

*huge - receives a buff to accuracy/offence and a debuff to dodge

*jumping - inflicts damage at the start of the fight, if you can fly or superjump the damage is reduced and stops altogether if you can both fly and superjump it appears.

*lava - immune to fire, chance to deal extra fire damage each turn, severe fire damage upon a fumble.

*racing - each turn they can pull away or have a barricade spawn. If they get too far away or you fail to dodge the barricade the fight ends.

*recolored - receives a buff to defense/offence

*respawning - needs to be defeated at least twice, taking too long or having the foe score a critical hit appears to give them an additional respawn.

*talkative - immune to sonic, can block skill useage

In addition to the other modifiers a foe can possess there is an additional special one that can occur in addition to their modifiers:
* miniboss - drop spinning chips, becomes enraged after taking enough damage
* enraged - receives a buff to accuracy/offence and deals extra damage each turn. The damage can be elemental for some opponents probably based on their resistances.

Additionally all villains and bosses act as though they have the miniboss modifier and become enraged after enough damage as well as drop spinning chips.
Some enemies that may not immediately strike you as bosses also display this behaviour such as the mob instigators during the protest.

I'll just edit them in as I go through. I opted for Heirloom before seeing the 48 hour time limits so I may not get every boss before the cutoff if that changes anything.
Capos encountered before knowing I need the key had modifiers but the first one after learning about the key did not and dropped both the key and a chip. So it is either just the capo with the key or all capos after learning about the key until you get the key count as bosses. Will take a couple retcons to narrow it down. Similar behaviour was not observed with the VIP guests and the swipe card though.

2 chips from an undazed John Steele so something similar may happen if you take the loot rather than knife on the Troutmaster.
: On the upside it looks like 3 chips could be a max of sorts as the crypt is pretty high on the toughness scale. How many modifiers do your opponents in the Crypt have? Also if you happen to have villains active how many chips are they dropping? I'll update the page to reflect 1-3 from minibosses. --Valmo (talk) 20:55, 30 December 2014 (PST)

Do we want to edit the "previous offerings" section so it just shows previous/current/next item? Would reduce clutter. Perhaps something like the chart at the bottom of here. Cristiona

That sounds like a great idea! Maybe make a separate template for it. But how to sort it... Alphabetically? By date of creation? Pantomine

: I'm not sure what you are suggesting here Cris. I think this page should show all past and preesnt offerings by the wok. They can be arranged in a table by month/year if we want to reduce clutter. Are you referring to the pages of the specific items? We can do something like the IOTM template for KoL see for example the bottom of this page.--Muhandes 15:39, 14 January 2009 (UTC)
::Yeah, that box on the bottom is exactly what I was thinking. Having everything on one page just seems... cluttered and ugly. I dunno. Just musing randomly. Cristiona

Though, that is connecting between the actual items itself. Although, that is still really simple to do. Yamum

I think a plain list like we have currently should be kept somewhere. Maybe not on the main Wok page, but somewhere that somebody can easily see all the iotms and when they were from. The vertical space taken up could probably be reduced with a table like http://kol.coldfront.net/thekolwiki/index.php/IOTM#Previous_Offerings --Olaf 19:03, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

How about this one:

<!--
Do NOT add the current Item of the Month here - this section is only for PREVIOUS offerings!
Crowding
This page is starting to get a little crowded and long. Should we consider making links to historical-type pages? At least for the purchasing messages. Or, perhaps, the purchase message could go on the item page:

|obtain=The Wok of Stars
:*Available for 10 silver stars during March of 2010.
:*The shopkeeper takes the 10 silver stars and hands you a jersey commemmorating the Viking Games.

Also, I like the chart, but I think it's going to get unwieldy eventually. Might have to consider shrinking the images at some point...

: I have no problem with either moving all messages to a separate page or moving it to the items, probably as part of the notes section though. I just don't feel the urge to do it as the page looks fine on my screen. If someone else wants to do it, go ahead. --Muhandes 09:46, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

: I'm willing to switch all the messages to the items page. If no one objects I'll start tomorrow afternoon. Also the table is extremely large especially when compared to KOLs where they have 5 or 6 years of stuff in half the space our 3 years take up. I looked at making the images smaller but they dont look too good . Any suggestions on ways to make the table smaller? --Zillow--

: I saw some whitespace was removed, and the page now looks good even on my tiny laptop. We can worry about the table's width next year. --Muhandes 07:34, 3 March 2010 (UTC)
:We can probably get away with removing prices as long as we put notes like:
:*In months with one item, the price was 10 silver stars
:*In months with two items, the price was 5 silver stars each
:I've made some suggestions for a new table (and copied the current one, for comparison) here. Feel free to add new tables to that page, but let's keep the discussion here on this page so it's consolidated. --hoyifung04 (talk) 13:43, 2 January 2015 (PST)
::There are a lot of great options on your user page hoyifung04. I like "Transposed, no prices, reverse chrono, no text, single-line" the best but I could see it being awkward for users that like having some text to go by. Overall I'll support any of the options that are transposed with no prices as it cuts down on the pricing clutter and keeps the table from getting odd should it become too wide in coming years. --Valmo (talk) 14:41, 2 January 2015 (PST)

Capos encountered before knowing I need the key had modifiers but the first one after learning about the key did not and dropped both the key and a chip. So it is either just the capo with the key or all capos after learning about the key until you get the key count as bosses. Will take a couple retcons to narrow it down. Similar behaviour was not observed with the VIP guests and the swipe card though.
|desc=Whether your let it hang in midair or keep it in your pocket, this chip slowly rotates. You don't think any store owner would accept it as legal tender, but it has to be good for something, right?

Anyway, you should probably figure out what it's good for before you start a new game. These things always seem to disappear when you restart.
|type=misc
|autosell=25
|obtain=Can drop when a challenge talisman is equipped. See notes for criteria
|usable=yes
|used=Well, You let go of the chip and catch it again, just to hear that little chime noise when you pick it up.
|multiuse=Using 1-15, 17:

You let go of the chips like a flock of sparrows, but they all come back, because it was meant to be. Or because you tracked them all down and put them back.

Using 16:

You stack the chips up and squeeze them until they become an ingot of solid... spinning.

Valmo: Enemies in late areas can have 3 modifiers. Thanks xKiv for braving those horrors.

* Something not good happens when the clock runs out but we don't know what yet.
