:I'm afraid I discovered this message just after a retcon, went and installed some computers in my hideout, noticed the message had changed and afterwards saw this wiki page, by which time I had only my memory to rely on for the original message. You make your way to the lobby and through its forest of floor-length banners. Each one advertises a different computer, but nothing better than you could build and nothing cheaper than a new Lexura.

Past the banners, the receptionist seems quite agitated. By which I mean she screams "We didn't have anything to do with it! Go away!"

When she realizes you are not, in fact, a reporter, she apologizes quickly. Apparently, something's gone drastically wrong with the city's computers and the reporters haven't given her a moment's rest since.

She calms down noticably when you mention you don't even have a computer. She explains that everyone's down except a few homebrew enthusiasts and folks with the new machines from LI.

I see that you can get to your League (once created) by going to the Character Sheet, clicking on your name to get the Character Information Sheet, and pressing the link where it displays the League you now belong to.

I presume, though, that this is just a shortcut, similar to "Your Shop" which has an actual location in Twilight? Is there a "physical" way to get to your League? What part of town is your tower in? I'll either win or get killed by the third message, so I can't figure out what pattern there will be afterwards. However, I suspect that the mouse takes two rounds to prepare and one round to roar. {{unsigned|Yingxiong|10:52, 3 October 2012}}

It seems take at least two rounds to "charge" for the killing (or at least very damaging) blow, then another to to execute it. I tend to associate 'black gold' with politics. :P According to Wikipedia, Black Gold is also associated with
Petroleum,
Coal,
Coffee,
Black pepper,
African slaves during the slave trade,
Opium poppy,
Compost,
Blackberries,
Human hair,
Guinness,
Marmite,
Bling. It doesn't have to be oil.
Also, is there some other requirement? I don't seem to be getting this at all. -Yingxiong

Well, since the adventure is about mining, the meaning is limited to natural resources, the most valuable under that name being petroleum (most common meaning of the expression as far as I know), often shortened to just oil. That's a funny list though (Blackberries? lol) Also you need to equip a [[data mining pick]] like it says on the Notes section to trigger this noncombat. I know, you've written that, but so far (I've done about 150 turns with the pick), the only effect the pick has had on my adventure in cyberspace is that the enemies have been harder to kill. :D I suspect there's some other mysterious requirement. -Yingxiong

It seems that I can handle the normal foes with one normal attack and one trample of the rhino. When my trample is around 140, I can sometimes do without the normal attack. I'm just saying that in case it helps determine the foes' health somehow.

It's been a while since any new business opened in downtown Twilight, particularly one big enough to need several towers. Knowing the city's luck, it'll be an arm of some vast criminal conspiracy.

You make your way to the lobby and through its forest of floor-length banners. Each one advertises a different computer, but nothing better than you could build and nothing cheaper than a new Lexura.

Past the banners, the receptionist seems quite agitated. By which I mean she screams "We didn't have anything to do with it! Go away!"

When she realizes you are not, in fact, a reporter, she apologizes quickly. Apparently, something's gone drastically wrong with the city's computers and the reporters haven't given her a moment's rest since.

She perks up noticably when you mention your computer is working. After a moment, she runs into the back.

She comes back out with a plastic baggie. "Here, take this home with you and try it out. The egg... researchers have developed it for exactly this sort of situation. It's a tiny submarine for exploring inside computers."

That sounds pretty crazy. But if there isn't a submarine in there, hey, free plastic baggie.
