Can you copy the entire message here? Makes adding it to the wiki a whole lot easier when I know what it is. --hoyifung04 07:40, 29 September 2012 (PDT)
:I'm afraid I discovered this message just after a retcon, went and installed some computers in my hideout, noticed the message had changed and <i>afterwards</i> saw this wiki page, by which time I had only my memory to rely on for the original message. It will be quite some time (one retcon run) before I can generate the message again myself, assuming nothing has changed in that time, which is uncertain. &nbsp; Richard H-G 07:59, 29 September 2012 (PDT)
Visiting with no computers installed
It's been a while since any new business opened in downtown Twilight, particularly one big enough to need several towers. Knowing the city's luck, it'll be an arm of some vast criminal conspiracy.

You make your way to the lobby and through its forest of floor-length banners. Each one advertises a different computer, but nothing better than you could build and nothing cheaper than a new Lexura.

Past the banners, the receptionist seems quite agitated. By which I mean she screams "We didn't have anything to do with it! Go away!"

When she realizes you are not, in fact, a reporter, she apologizes quickly. Apparently, something's gone drastically wrong with the city's computers and the reporters haven't given her a moment's rest since.

She calms down noticably when you mention you don't even have a computer. She explains that everyone's down except a few homebrew enthusiasts and folks with the new machines from LI.

As you walk away with the proverbial weight of Twilight on your shoulders you hear her mutter "who names a program 'VILLAIN' anyway?"
Getting to the League
I see that you can get to your League (once created) by going to the Character Sheet, clicking on your name to get the Character Information Sheet, and pressing the link where it displays the League you now belong to.

I presume, though, that this is just a shortcut, similar to "Your Shop" which has an actual location in Twilight? Is there a "physical" way to get to your League? What part of town is your tower in? It would have to have a range of 0 to let you use the submarine... &nbsp; Richard H-G 16:25, 16 October 2012 (PDT)
:There's a link to your league in the top pane. Sometimes that doesn't refresh, so switching vehicle ranges should do it. Cristiona 16:38, 16 October 2012 (PDT)
::Ah, yes! I see it! Next to "Full Inventory". Thank you. I'm glad there's a more obvious way there, but I'm still baffled by where the tower is "physically" supposed to be. &nbsp; Richard H-G 16:45, 16 October 2012 (PDT)

Deep in the empty hall, you find a downcast receptionist. "Well, they say that every cloud has a silver lining. Everyone else in LI Inc. got arrested... but, hey, now I'm my own boss."

Well, since the adventure is about mining, the meaning is limited to natural resources, the most valuable under that name being petroleum (most common meaning of the expression as far as I know), often shortened to just oil.<br>That's a funny list though (Blackberries? lol)<br>Also you need to equip a data mining pick like it says on the Notes section to trigger this noncombat. I know, you've written that, but so far (I've done about 150 turns with the pick), the only effect the pick has had on my adventure in cyberspace is that the enemies have been harder to kill. :D I suspect there's some other mysterious requirement. -Yingxiong
Decrypting
* After installing a computer and setting the software to Vlad's Decryptonomicon software you cat set it to decrypt items that can be deccrypted. Doing so will result in an effect and give you a message:
: You plug the <item> into your computer and tell it to start decrypting. The software says it will probably require X minutes of uninterrupted work to finish the decryption. (Added for X minutes.)
* Decrypting heavily, moderately, somewhat or slightly encrypted swipe card takes 45 minutes on an electronic computer and 30 minutes on a positronic computer. You get either Computer 1: Decrypting Swipe Card or Computer 2: Decrypting Swipe Card, depending on the computer used.
* Decrypting mangled data plate takes 45 minutes on an electronic computer and 30 minutes on a positronic computer. You get either Computer 1: Decrypting Data Plate or Computer 2: Decrypting Data Plate, depending on the computer used.
* Decrypting city map, financial spreadsheet, physiology scan, signal processing or statistical analysis code take 20 minutes on an electronic computer and 15 minutes on a positronic computer. The effect you get depends both on the code and on depending on the computer used, though the name depends only on the computer used:
:* financial spreadsheet code: Computer 1: decrypting code or Computer 2: decrypting code (resulting in a signal processing code)
:* city map code: Computer 1: decrypting code or Computer 2: decrypting code (resulting in a physiology scan code)
:* physiology scan code: Computer 1: decrypting code or Computer 2: decrypting code (resulting in a financial spreadsheet code)
:* signal processing code: Computer 1: decrypting code or Computer 2: decrypting code (resulting in a statistical analysis code)

Notes
* Trying to decrypt an item while another is already decrypted, or while the software running is incorrect (for example from another window) yields:

You can only decrypt an item if the computer is currently running decryption software and isn't busy doing some heavy decrypting at the moment. Either you're not running the right software, or the computer is busy, so it's not gonna work for you right now.

* You cannot replace a computer that is currently decrypting.

* There's a line at the bottom if you have your submicroscopic submarine as your transport: Journey to Inner Cyberspace. It will take you on a journey to inner cyberspace.

She perks up noticably when you mention your computer is working. After a moment, she runs into the back.

She comes back out with a plastic baggie. "Here, take this home with you and try it out. The egg... researchers have developed it for exactly this sort of situation. It's a tiny submarine for exploring inside computers."

That sounds pretty crazy. But if there isn't a submarine in there, hey, free plastic baggie.

You got an item: submicroscopic submarine
Prices aside, there's no obvious criminal activity. The receptionist is even fairly friendly, once she can tear herself away from her browser game.
From what she says, management plans to "aggressively leverage synergies in a public-private partnership to capitalize on open market share." It doesn't mean anything to her either, but it doesn't sound like they want to blow up the city.
