You are fighting Vuvuzila.
Vuvuzilla is a giant lizard that terrorizes Chinatown with his awful musical playing. He isn't an Asian lizard, though, he's an accidental import from Africa, where he wasn't much of a nuisance at all. Just goes to show you need to be careful introducing non-native species to new territories.
