This page contains some non specific data which NEEDS SPADING: Computer triggers |
The Hero Dash puts you in front of a lot of contrived situations, but solving a complicated algebra formula to defuse a bomb... honestly isn't in the top ten, but it's probably up there.
Figuring this thing out without doing the prep work seems like it'll take at least an hour. Ain't nobody got time for that.
- If you've selected Study up but not Ask your computer:
You've determined N digits.
- If you've selected Ask your computer but not Study up:
You've dedicated a terrifying M megahertz of processing power towards solving the formula.
- If you've selected both Study up and Ask your computer:
You've determined N digits and put a terrifying M megahertz of processing power towards solving the formula.
Options:
- Study up
- Ask your computer
- Solve with no letters
- Maybe later

If you chose Study up:
Studying Like A Hero
You pore over (and maybe pour over if you haven't caffeinated enough tonight) the formulas, wracking the far ends of your brain to understand its clockwork perfection.
- If you ?:
You turn your massive intellect to cracking the next few digits of the answer. It's all coming together.
- Determine 2 digits
- Otherwise:
You apply some mental elbow grease to the problem. You don't get any insane breakthroughs, but this stuff is mostly hard work and dedication anyway.
- Determine 1 digit
- And then, if you have a clockwork owl (companion) active:
Your clockwork owl whistles some hints into your ear. Good thing only you can understand it.
- Determine an additional 1 digit
If you chose Ask your computer:
Better Than Scantron
Teachers always said you wouldn't always have a computer with you, but they clearly didn't foresee you becoming a superhero.
- If you have a positronic computer or a retrofuturistic computer installed:
Your computer tears through calculations like a hot knife through cyberbutter (still the second best topping for circuitbread, no matter what folks outside of the Commonwealth might still).
- Dedicates 3 megahertz of processing power
- If you have an electronic computer installed:
Your computer isn't really up to the task, but it does a mean job simulating a slide rule.
- Dedicates 1 megahertz of processing power
- Otherwise:
You don't actually... have a computer for this, but the Hero Dash staff do provide slide rules, so it's basically the same thing.
- Dedicates 1 megahertz of processing power
- And then, if ?:
And you've learned the most important thing about computers today: the ability to put text over pictures and thereby elicit lulz. The future is a beautiful place.
- Dedicates an additional 1 megahertz of processing power
If you chose Solve with no letters:
The Anti-Math Equation
You attempt to finish the formula, so you can go back to never thinking about math again... except for work and everytime you need to figure out a tip.
You cram like a student the night before the test for X minutes and get Y damage of brain cramps afterwards.
- If you are defeated:
But that's all you have in you.
- If this is the first completed trial of the Dash:
The booth right after the event offers you a drink.
You got an item: Water Drinkadile
- or
You got an item: Garlic Drinkadile
- or
You got an item: Lavender Drinkadile
- If this is the second completed trial of the Dash:
The booth right after the event offers you some refreshment.
You got an item: Hero Dash nuts
- or
You got an item: Hero Dash licorice
- or
You got an item: Hero Dash expresso
- If this is the third completed trial of the Dash:
You've finished today's Hero Dash in <amount of time taken>. Congratulations!
If you chose Maybe later:
Fight Now, Dash Later
No time for dashing right now, you've got crime to fight!
- Does not consume time
