While exploring the castle, you find yourself in the stables. After all, what self-respecting castle doesn't have a stable? Sadly, there's not much to speak of here, as it seems most of the guards and scientists prefer to travel by car. Or maybe they ride around on the strange robots that populate the castle.
Regardless, off in the corner, there's a neglected nook with a large anvil and numerous blacksmith's tools. Most of the tools are rusted beyond usability, but you find a tattered diary. Thumbing through it, you learn of the trials and tribulations of the blacksmith's life. It's a moving story full of romance, adventure, and danger. With a healthy dose of both thrills and chills. In the back is a list of materials and instructions for constructing an impressive set of gilded barding. You figure that might be handy, so you tear it out of the book and head on your way.
