Some of you may be making this more complicated than it needs to be. Remember that badges frequently reward non-optimal gameplay. In this case, I was spading something completely unrelated, and just stumbled across the badge by dumb luck because I was ignoring something else, if that helps narrow things down. | Some of you may be making this more complicated than it needs to be. Ok folks, let's start the talk. We all are guessing where this is from, anyone have any ideas how? - malk
Well the guy who had it, had watchdog rep if that is part of it. It could be a specific # reptile tiles or quill blades, "Dinosaur-in-a-haystack" might also refer to a semi rare adventure or an adventure that occurs at a specific time of the day (maybe what Ryme was talking about in the TH forum.). Well those are my thoughts on it. --Reaper 11:46, 25 August 2008 (MST)
Has nothing to do with reputation. Not quite sure what "Dinosaur-in-a-haystack" might mean, but it's not a semi-rare, or time-of-day adventure. - The Tinker
My idea is killing a certain number of a certain dinosaur in the Triassic area. There are fucking tons of them, so killing a specific one several times might be hard. Estemmenosuchus, maybe? - Satan
"dinosaur-in-a-haystack" and "Brontosaurus Bully" had me thinking you earned it by getting a time-of-day adventure in which you fight a Brontosaurus as well. It might just be that the names are references to the books Dinosaur in a Haystack and Bully for Brontosaurus because Ryme happens to like them, and it doesn't have anything to do with anything other than the theme. And you're a Brontosaurus Bully for killing tons of them like Satan suggested. I think I spent about 300-400 adventures there, and I don't have the badge, so it's got to be more than that. - bamse
Could be an item based one (since rare and time have been ruled out), lizard tails maybe? We already have number of playing cards, crystals, bats, and drinks for badges, possible that it is a particular number of an item that get turned in. - malk
- Ryme has given a clue regarding an undiscovered merit badge. The clue was "poetry". This zone has a "verse of the dodo" drop. Maybe related? --Grimdel 21:07, 26 August 2008 (MST)
- verse of the dodo - 34 and no luck yet - malk
Keep collecting items and you will find it.
- Wasn't that clue given a while before the triassic park was opened? - bamse
- Might have been - anyway it's not 100 verse of the dodo. - malk

OK, Malk has solved this, but apparently he's leaving it up to me to spoil, which I would rather not do if there's anyone left still having fun with it. You're headed in the right direction. Be persistent, you'll get there. It's pretty simple. There's just one small catch. If you expect Ryme to do the same thing twice, you might want to rethink that.
