This pod is filled with literally millions of tiny, explosively pressurized seed bubbles. Squeezing the case will cause one or two of them to pop out of the conveniently funneled end.
It makes you think nature sure is unusual sometimes. Seeds that disperse in the wind are one thing. Seeds that traverse as a projectile are just downright weird.
