Giger counter
Plural: uknown
That missing "e" makes for a much stranger device than you would have imagined. It doesn't detect radiation, but rather is calibrated to hone in on the strangely distorted or biotechnical images around us. Things we mostly try not to acknowledge. Once you get used to it, it's strangely intellectually stimulating, but for the unpracticed it can be a bit shocking.
