Delilah

You are fighting Delilah.

Stemming from the 'demon barber' school of villainy, Delilah carries magic shears that sap the strength of anyone she uses them against.
Your opponent attacks ...

Hit messages:

  • Delilah quips, "Shears looking at you, kid!" and delivers a powerfully pun-driven blow.
  • Deliah[sic?] runs at you. You try to run away, but she gives you her shears. Uh-oh, now you're running with scissors! The sense of panic causes you to trip and fall and … ow! ow!
  • Delilah slices you with her magic shears, draining your strength. It's not the lack of hair that weakens you, but the massive loss of blood.
Special Attack: Contact with the[sic] Delilah causes your limbs to numb and weaken. You acquire an effect: Weakened. (Added for 30 minutes.)

She hits you for X damage.

Critical hit message:

Your opponent has a critical hit! She hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

  • Delilah tries for a snarky comment before her attack, but only fumbles out an awkward, "So, shall we chase to the cut, uh, shall we? I mean, I'll cut you! I'll cut you good!" Off balance, her attack fails.
  • Delilah attacks you, but you run away. Since she's holding scissors she can't run after you.
  • Delilah tries to give you a haircut, but as a superhero you're already immaculately styled for every shot.

Fumble messages:

Your foe fumbles! She takes X damage.

Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!

  • Obviously, Delilah is a biblical figure who betrayed Samson by cutting off his hair, thus sapping his strength.
  • "Shears looking at you, kid!" is a pun on the well known quote from the movie Casablanca, "Here's looking at you, kid".
