An ephemeral light, some will-o'-the-wisp, appears before you in a burned out alley and draws you down the block, past an old park, and into a tunnel walkway underneath the interstate. In the shadows of the walkway the light transforms into a ghostly figure, and says, "Greetings, hero. I sense the power and goodness in you. Though I am long gone, I wish to bequeath my legacy to you. Search here and you will be rewarded."

The figure places his hand against some wooden slats where the plaster has already peeled away, then fades into nothingness. It seems crazy, even to you, but you pry loose a few boards. Behind the slats is an old metal box. With growing excitement you open it up and find ... a giant stack of paper money?

Crap. Between the poor conversion rates when the Twilight economy changed over to chips, the massive inflation caused by a couple of decades of urban decay, and the fact that paper money is nearly useless and all but illegal in the city, this can't be worth more than, let's see ...

When all is said and done, the huge pile of cash only nets you ?-494-500-? chips down at the casino. It's better than nothing, but as a hero's legacy it's pretty disappointing.
