Pallid Mask
Plural: Pallid Masks
The facemask worn by the Tatterdemalion King. When you wear it, your perceptions of the world change, and you find yourself understanding things differently. It's terribly hard to explain, but everything seems more... significant. It's also terribly creepy and disturbing.

Notes

  • Soul gazing does not work if you have the Got S.M.A.R.T. running. Instead, you will sometimes (but not always) get the Got S.M.A.R.T. messages.
  • Soul gazing does not work on Scaling Enemies.
  • Otherwise, soul gazing adds a message at the beginning of each combat:
Through the Pallid Mask you gaze deep into your opponent's soul:

Your opponent has a fiercer attack than you do.

or

Through the Pallid Mask you gaze deep into your opponent's soul:

Your attack is more dangerous than your foe's.

or

Through the Pallid Mask you gaze deep into your opponent's soul:

You cannot detect a particular weakness in your foe.

or

Through the Pallid Mask you gaze deep into your opponent's soul:

You sense that your opponent may be susceptible to electricity.

or

Through the Pallid Mask you gaze deep into your opponent's soul:

Your defenses seem solid compared to your foe.

or

Through the Pallid Mask you gaze deep into your opponent's soul:

Your opponent is going to be hard pressed to get through your defenses.

or

Through the Pallid Mask you gaze deep into your opponent's soul:

You currently have more health than your foe.

or

Through the Pallid Mask you gaze deep into your opponent's soul:

Your accuracy should overwhelm your opponent's defenses.
