Night is Coming

As the sky reddens in a harsh but beautiful alien sunset, dusty footprints in the flaky badlands dirt lead you to a another straggler from the scientific expedition. A man named Hassan tells his tale of woe. His compatriot Suleiman, made frantic by the ravages of a buzzing swarm, had inattentively run off the edge of a cliff in his panic. Then a man named Zeke had fallen into a sand pit, and before he could get out a herd of subterranean razor beasts had torn him apart. His wife Shazza had died when, while trying to pull him out of the pit, she had instead been pulled in to the lair of the beasts after her husband.
On your way back to the portal Hassan relays that they had gotten a reading on some Nostromonium crystals in cave 2, but they had not successfully found the crystals before the painful screeching of a flock of howler bats had driven them from the cave.
You make a note on your map, highlighting cave X as a place to explore later.
