You warily approach the conference room door, where another office hoplite stands guard. At this rate it's going to take all week just to clear one room. There must be three hundred Conference Room Spartans in there.
Wait, 300? That gives you an idea! You duck back down the hall and around the corner to a quiet lunchroom. A scrawny, clean-shaven man sits, hunched over his meal. He twitches a little when you enter, but doesn't seem threatening. "Oh, I thought you were one of the Spartans. They say I'm too small and unbearded to hang out with them, so I eat my lunch in here. What a bunch of jerks. "
"Actually, "[sic] you say, "I'm kind of at odds with those guys, too. They're keeping me from ... uh, getting through to the other side. I don't suppose you know another way around?"
The man's eyes brighten. "A shortcut? Sure! All you have to do is take this goat path. Er, I don't know why I called it that, I mean this service hallway. The other side opens up right on the other side of the conference room." He gestures at a nondescript metal door on the other side of the kitchen.
You offer the man a quick thanks and dash off down the goat--er, service tunnel. Just before the door closes behind you, the skinny man shouts something that sounds a bit like, "You show Mister Idas his beard isn't that great!"
