This chunk of an iceberg has gathered around a larger shell of ice around itself (known in the ice biz as ice ice, in case you were wondering). If anything, it's only grown more dangerous since it was calved, swearing vengeance on Twilight for defending itself from a giant iceberg.

It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's usually best not to apply logic to young ice ice. Their brains don't really fully develop until they pass through ice ice adolescence and become ice ice adults.
