This makes its name even more confusing--"heart of gold" suggests that somewhere down deep the robot is filled with kindness and good intentions, but from the surface there's no such indication at all.

The first being Marvin the Paranoid Android, who suffered from depression and frequently lamented being given menial tasks, despite having superior intelligence. The second being the Heart of Gold, a starship powered by a device called the Infinite Improbability Drive.
