Gungnir's Charm
Plural: Gungnir's Charms
Gungnir was a hero from the Golden Age of Twilight who was a member of the Charmed Four, a group of superheroes put together by a PR firm to cash in on all the real heroes out there. They mostly relied on staged events and high tech gear, but they all wore a little charm bracelet with their symbol on it. Who knew their loyal fans would infuse those charms with power?

The "tip of the spear", as he was known, was as brash and bold as you'd expect from a hero with the name Gungnir. He would frequently be right there in the front of the battle, attacking like a madman or like a berserker, a habit that could frustrate his teammates. Like the unstoppable force he was, he ignored all obstacles and struck straight to the heart of the matter.

Unfortunately, as time went on, he grew more and more unstable, frequently charging into battle without waiting for the rest of his team, screaming his name at the top of his lungs as he did. His reckless attitude (and other, less mentionable habits) was frequently viewed as the catalyst for the team's dissolution.

Other Uses

When equipped grants a combat skill Heartpiercer:

With a melee weapon equipped:
You feel Gungnir's power flowing through you from his old charm. You charge at your opponent, screaming like an idiot, but aiming at vital organs like a pro.
<Normal attack message>
Wow. It'll be a bit before you can do that again. You gain an effect: Nova Recovery. (Added for 120 minutes.)
With a ranged weapon equipped:
With a ranged weapon you're trying to keep your distance, which doesn't really work with your plans for frothing berserker rage and running someone through. Perhaps you should make a mental note to try again with a melee weapon.

Notes

  • When bought: The shopkeeper takes your 5 silver stars, and gingerly hands you the Gungnir charm.
