(Ionic tonic does not appear trigger the PP message but it is possible an interaction could exist with its combat use. I'll take a look after I wrangle enough groundwater.) |

ion
Plural: ions
Now, in Twilight and, well, Earth, it's expected for ions to be... small... really, really small. This one, on the other hand, comes from another dimension where ions are the size of marbles.

When Used in Combat
You wang a massive ion at <foe>, destroying Earth's understanding of physics and dealing 20-30 damage.
against an ionic foe
You hurl a massive ion into the air, trusting attractive forces to bring it back down like a lightning bolt on <foe> for ?-31-34-? damage.
And it works exactly like you expected. You're better at this trans-dimensional physics stuff than you thought!
sometimes with the effect With Chance of Ions active
The ion completes its trajectory, returning back to its orbit in your cloud. Who's a good ion? You are! Yes, you are!
sometimes with the effect With Chance of Ions after consuming ionic mineral water
The ion completes its trajectory, slapping back into your hand with a satisfying jolt of energy, revitalizing you for ?-10-15-? PP
- Can be assembled with groundwater to make ionic tonic.
- Can be assembled with alien mineral water to make ionic mineral water.
- Can be assembled with eye podule to make ion the prize.
- Can be assembled with space mead to make ion flask.
Notes
- When created you get the message:
- You shatter the ion stone with your hammer, breaking them into strange blobs of charged matter.
- Unlike most assembled items, this item cannot be disassembled.
- When the With Chance of Ions messages occur the ion in addition to damaging the target will not be consumed.
- The PP restoration message gets priority but has a limited number of uses. The number of uses appears to be equal to the amount of ionic mineral water consumed.
- The hammer used determines the number of ions produced:
hammer | 3 ions |
big honkin' hammer | 4 ions |
metal carbide hammer | 4 ions |
universal hammer | 5 ions |
volcanic hammers | 5 ions |
- Ions are used as currency to purchase items from The Last Nostronomian Store.
References
- The first sentence of the description possibly refers to Steve Martin's "Let Get Small".
