You are fighting an experimental sludge.
If you've ever seen high schoolers with access to dozens of chemicals, you know that all those chemicals are going to end up in a giant pile of stinking, burning awfulness. That doesn't even begin to explain what happened here.

Hit messages:
- The sludge howls in rage and flips a nearby lab table onto you.
- The sludge swings at you. You easily dodge, but can't escape its indescribably horrible scent. (psychic) damage
- The sludge scoops out a baseball-sized portion of itself and hits you with the pitch. You take first base and some acid damage. (acid) damage

Critical hit message:
Your opponent has a critical hit! It hits you for X damage.
Miss messages:
- The sludge howls in rage and tries to flip a nearby lab table. It turns out the sludge's pseudopods are stickier than it thought.
- The sludge swings at you. You easily dodge, then back away the moment you get a whiff of its indescribably horrible scent.
- The sludge scoops out a baseball-sized portion of itself and pitches it at you. You swing and miss, but the ball burns a hole in the wall behind you, so maybe that wasn't a bad thing.
Fumble messages:

Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!
