insane villain

You are fighting an insane villain.

Some captured villains get sent to jail, but the ones that seem the least sane get sent here instead. The theory is that a dose of sanity might set them right, but that theory doesn't seem to have worked.
Your opponent attacks ...

Hit messages:

  • The villain pokes you insanely in the membrane. It doesn't really matter which one, they're all pretty sensitive.
  • The villain tricks you into stepping on a trapped platform, which launches you into a pile of exploding plush animals. damage+ (fire) damage
  • He says he'll let you go if you can solve a Rubik's cube in 30 seconds. Turns out he lied, though. Solving the cube actually causes it to explode. damage+ (sonic) damage

He hits you for X damage.

Critical hit message:

Your opponent has a critical hit! He hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

  • He tricks you into falling through a trap door, where you're nearly encased in Lucite, but you manage to catch on to the edge of the trap with your fingertips and pull yourself back up.
  • The villain challenges you to a duel of riddles, but he has to forfeit when he can't think of any good ones.
  • The villain threatens you with some cryptonase, but then he remembers that's his weakness, not yours.

Fumble messages:

Your foe fumbles! He takes X damage.

  • The miss messages might contain two references to the three criminals from the movie Superman II. Being encased in Lucite might reference their imprisonment in the Phantom Zone, which resembles Lucite. Cryptonase is a reference to Kryptonite which was their weakness (same as Superman).
  • The first hit message contains a reference to the song "Insane in the Brain" by Cypress Hill.
