mochi vendor

You are fighting a mochi vendor.

When vendor robots go bad, they go really bad. In this case, the task of taking money in exchange for goods has been replaced by the task of simply taking money. By force if necessary.
Your opponent attacks ...

Hit messages:

  • The robot gently tosses a mochi ball to you. Seeing no harm, you devour it. Ooh! Brain freeze! damage+ (ice) damage
  • The vendor launches a series of frozen mochi balls at you. Too bad you're not wearing a catcher's mask, or you could get yourself out of here at maximum overdrive. damage+ (ice) damage
  • The vendor opens its lid, but when you reach in to grab a tasty snack it slams the lid on your fingers. damage+ (ice) damage

It hits you for X damage.

Critical hit message:

Your opponent has a critical hit! It hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

  • Before the vendor can attack, you hand it a large-denomination chip and ask for change, distracting it.
  • The vendor rolls at you menacingly, but a small pebble gets caught under one of its wheels. It revs its engine piteously, but can't move forward.
  • You flip a chip high into the air. The mochi bot tracks the coin, hoping to catch it, but you've got a longer reach and simply snag it back out of the air.

Fumble messages:
