Smokey Bear (often referred to as Smokey the Bear) is a mascot of the United States Forest Service created to educate the public on the dangers of forest fires. McGruff the Crime Dog is an anthropomorphic cartoon bloodhound created for the National Crime Prevention Council for use by American police in building crime awareness among children.
