0.When you reach level 4 the following appears in your journal:
Time for a Check-In ...
You get this feeling that there's more going on out there in the big city than you know about yet. Maybe now would be a good time to check in with Rand and see what he knows.
1. Upon visiting the Twilight Police Department after reaching level 4 you will receive the following assignment from Officer Rand:
Rand greets you with a new assignment. "A riot just broke out on campus at University Heights. Reports say it started out as some kind of dance party, and somehow it got mixed up with a political rally and people started fighting. I know this sounds pretty mundane, but something's very strange there. For one thing, there seem to be a number of instigators who are hanging out there solely to keep the chaos going. Still, we ought to be able to take them out, but we've tried every thing we can think of to get this riot to stop, and it just keeps growing bigger. Even worse, some of the police officers on the scene seem to be losing it and starting to join the riot instead of keeping the peace. Can you check it out for us? Take out the instigators and see if you can get things calmed down."
The following text will also appear in your Journal:
What started as a small political rally has broken out into a full-blown rioting protest on the university campus. Police have been trying to calm it down, but their best efforts don't seem to be enough. It's up to you to dissuade the instigators and quell the riot.
2. Patrol at the Campus: Investigate a Protest until 4 mob instigators are defeated. Keep adventuring until you encounter A Scientific Perspective. The following text will be updated in your journal:
The riot continues at the university. You've talked with one of the science professors on campus, Susan Novak, who thinks there might be something else driving the riot. You've got to be on the lookout for anything suspicious.
3. Continue adventuring at the Campus: Investigate a Protest until you encounter Rhythm of the Rage. The following text will be updated in your journal:
You've caught Rage, a teenager with psychic powers, who has been fueling the university riots. With him out of the picture things ought to return to normal on their own soon enough. You ought to take him to Officer Rand, though, unless you want a troubled and dangerous teen for a sidekick.
4. Clicking on "Take Rage downtown to Rand" or visiting Twilight Police Department any other way will yield Take Rage downtown to Rand. The following text will be updated in your journal:
You've caught Rage, a teenager with psychic powers, who has been fueling the university riots. With him out of the picture things ought to return to normal on their own soon enough. Rand has taken him into custody and sent him to Shiloh Sanatarium for treatment. All that remains is to re-visit the riot and make sure it's really settled down.
5. Use the button reading "Go back to Campus", or otherwise adventure in Campus: Investigate a Protest. This will immediately provide the Just A Diversion? adventure, complete the quest and give the following message to the Completed Quests section of your journal:
The university protest has been calmed. The instigators have been taken care of. Rage is getting treatment in Shiloh Sanatarium. Everything would be back to normal, except for the worrisome fact that a bunch of high-tech equipment was stolen from the university during the riot; it appears that a mysterious person called "The Mick" might be responsible.
The following message is added to the Other Notes section of your journal:
You have made friends with Susan Novak, a scientist at the university. You can find her there if you have science-related questions.
Susan Novak now appears in the university. Also, the Cat and Mick-y Mouse Game quest initiates.
6. After level five, visit Susan again to get the following:
Susan greets you and says, "I've been thinking about some of the physical implications of having super powers, and I've put together a list of factors that might be unique to you that might not apply to the "average" human. I suspect if you were to take these factors into consideration, you might be able to increase your relative "effectiveness."
You got an item: 77 Habits of Highly Effective Heroes
Rewards
Notes
- If you reach level 4 before finishing Like a Super Neighbor (and unlocking Rand) you get a "quest" added to your journal:
More Quests ...
There are more quests to come, but you've got to establish some groundwork first. Maybe you ought to try to take care of first things first, you know?
