I recently fixed the Assembly Script for Greasemonkey and I noticed there were still some problems. As it turns out there is a difference in capitalization between in game items and their wiki counterparts in some cases. I would appreciate any help possible in fixing this issue for now I am patching things with Xxx | xxx as appropriate but should we instead take the time to fix the capitalization of wiki pages? The initial examples I noted were Wad of cashmere which is not capitalized in game so it is wad of cashmere and Xelor watch which was miscapitalized on the assembly page as xelor watch. --RKBrumbelow (talk) 09:50, 25 July 2013 (PDT)
- Letters other than the initial letter can be either capital or lowercase, so a silicon scooter is not the same as silicon Scooter; however, the first letter of all wiki pages are always capitals, so the wiki treats silicon Scooter the same as Silicon Scooter. (This is why we have Hammer (Armament of Destiny) rather than just Hammer.) So we can't really "fix" the capitalisation of wiki pages.
With links, we normally have the capitalisation match what it is in-game. Sometimes, the game is inconsistent with itself; for example, the item is called gold star, yet the Wok of Stars refers to it as a Gold Star. As you pointed out, there are some mistakes, especially with older pages/links, where the capitalisation is wrong. For pages that do not quote directly the game, feel free to fix these as you see them. Text taken from the game may copy the "incorrect" capitalisation from it. (Of course, feel free to change it if you confirmed it was a wiki typo.)
Oh, and the link to the Wok in the previous paragraph was not a mistake. When writing freely (e.g. in the Notes section), feel free to change the capitilisation to whatever fits best. --hoyifung04 (talk) 17:36, 25 July 2013 (PDT)
