underground racing Octotron |
---|
You are fighting the underground racing Octotron.
If you thought the Octotron was awful before, just wait until you fight it with turbo chargers, glasspacks, headers, and all sorts of other car-racey stuff to make it a real sweet machine.
Your opponent attacks ...
Hit messages:
- Burning rubber with tank treads doesn't work very well, but it does fling molten asphalt in your face. (fire) damage
- Wow, those glasspacks don't do squat for noise reduction, and being underground just adds reverb! (sonic) damage
- Needless to say, the Octotron isn't up to EPA standards. Whatever's in that black smoke, it's not healthy at all. (acid) damage
It hits you for X damage.
Critical hit message:
Your opponent has a critical hit! It hits you for X damage.
Miss messages:
- It tries to tear up the asphalt, but it mostly just gets stuck. Maintenance standards seem to have dropped.
- It may be loud, but this is hardly your first rodeo; you've got earplugs (ear equipment slot not shown).
- It bellows out some toxic smoke, but a rapping bat and a pair of bickering fairies capture it. Maybe you need some sleep.
Fumble messages:
Your foe fumbles! It takes X damage.
Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!
You gain 200 experience.
Huh, this gadget looks like a bit of cobbled-together trash, but whirs to life when your talisman gets near it... like it's drawing power from it somehow.
You have acquired a new skill: Spring Pusher
Known resistances/weaknesses
50% resistant to psychic damage.
Locations
Notes
- At the end of each round of combat,
- sometimes
- The cars zip closer to you, getting closer than you're comfortable slow-dancing.
- foe becomes "Close"
- or, if wielding a ranged weapon
- The cars zip closer to you, getting closer than you're comfortable slow-dancing. That'll make it pretty hard to use your <ranged weapon>.
- foe becomes "Close"
- always, with or without the previous message
- The Octotron releases its Spring Pusher with a emphatic BOING, dealing you an equally emphatic X damage.
- or
- As you come close, the Octotron bounces you back out with its Spring Pusher for X damage.
- foe becomes "Distant"
- or, if wielding a melee weapon
- As you come close, the Octotron bounces you back out with its Spring Pusher for X damage. That'll make it pretty hard to use your <melee weapon>.
- foe becomes "Distant"
- If the foe is "Distant", your next melee attack is replaced by:
- You rush up, closing the distance with your opponent.
- If the foe is "Close", your next ranged attack attack is replaced by:
- You rush back, opening up some distance between you and your opponent.
- During each round of combat, after the acid attack:
- The toxins continue to burn you for Y acid damage.
