  • Soul gazing does not work if you have the Got S.M.A.R.T. running. Instead, you will sometimes (but not always) get the Got S.M.A.R.T. messages.
  • Soul gazing does not work on Scaling Enemies.
  • Otherwise, soul gazing adds a message at the beginning of each combat:
You gaze deep into your opponent's soul:

Your opponent has a fiercer attack than you do.

Messages include:

  • Comparing your offense to your opponents:
    • Your attack is more dangerous than your foe's.
    • Your opponent has a fiercer attack than you do.
  • Comparing your defense to your opponents:
    • Your defenses seem solid compared to your foe.
    • Your opponent's armor seems thicker than yours.
  • Comparing your HP to your opponents:
    • You currently have more health than your foe.
    • Your opponent has more health than you do.
  • Comparing to-hit vs. evade
    • Your opponent is going to be hard pressed to get through your defenses.
    • You are likely to have trouble evading your foe's attacks.
    • Your accuracy should overwhelm your opponent's defenses.
    • This wily foe is likely to be difficult to catch.
  • Foe weaknesses
    • You cannot detect a particular weakness in your foe.
    • You sense that your opponent may be susceptible to fire.
    • You sense that your opponent may be susceptible to acid.
    • You sense that your opponent may be susceptible to psychic effects.
    • You sense that your opponent may be susceptible to electricity.
    • You sense that your opponent may be susceptible to ice.
    • You sense that your opponent may be susceptible to sonic attacks.
  • Foe resistance
    • You cannot detect any particular resistances in your foe.
    • You sense that your opponent will not be susceptible to sonic attacks.
    • You sense that your opponent will not be susceptible to fire.
    • You sense that your opponent will not be susceptible to ice.
    • You sense that your opponent will not be susceptible to psychic effects.
    • You sense that your opponent will not be susceptible to electricity.
    • You sense that your opponent will not be susceptible to acid.
    • You sense that your opponent will not be susceptible to

Notes

  • The message "You sense that your opponent will not be susceptible to " is displayed when the opponent is physical damage resistant. This is obviously a bug.
  • You get the same message for both resistance (50% damage less) and immunity (1 damage).
