Plural: alchemical stink bombs
A lame old chemical stink bomb might use hydrogen sulfide or, gods help us, thioacetone. But alchemists skip right over that and work with the semi-mythical essence of stench itself, a smell so refined and terrible modern languages no longer have a word for it.
