metaprogrammer

You are fighting a metaprogrammer.

You know who programs the programs that let you program? Probably some guy on the internet.

But you know who programs the programs that let him program the programs that help you program? This lady, with nothing more than a steady hand and an urge to destroy anything that interferes with her programming.

Uh oh.
Your opponent attacks ...

Hit messages:

  • She reprograms your higher functions. You'd think this would be deep, but it's mostly "stop hitting yourself!"
  • Just thinking about her bends and breaks your mind. You're metaconfused; no, wait, make that megaconfused. (psychic) damage
  • She programs your meta. I'm not sure what your meta is, but programming it hurts.

She hits you for X damage.

Critical hit message:

Your opponent has a critical hit! She hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

  • She reprograms your higher functions, but you go back to a previous restore point.
  • She tries to rely on the inherent confusion of "meta", but you just don't think about it.
  • She tries to program your meta but your metavirus blocker stops her.

Fumble messages:

Your foe fumbles! She takes X damage.

Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!
