phobophobic unspeakable horror |
---|
Who knows what fears lurk in the heart of <foe>? You do, apparently... and so does everyone else now that you've finished your costume change montage.
If the only thing to fear is fear itself, this costume is a good start. It's mind-twisting curves, surrounding a shape so terrifying you dare not speak its name.
Hopefully, whoever's inside of it doesn't find a mirror anywhere.
Your opponent attacks ...
Hit messages:
- The horror just hovers there, spinning slowly and eating away at the boundaries of reality. (psychic) damage
- The horror hurls a day-glo pterodactyl at you. You're not sure how long you're entranced by the infinitely recursive patterns on its wings. (psychic) damage
- The unspeakable horror catches you with one of its n-dimensional tentacles and rotates you ninety degrees. You decide to take the damage rather than worry about the math. (psychic) damage
It hits you for X damage.
Critical hit message:
Your opponent has a critical hit! It hits you for X damage.
Miss messages:
- The horror just hovers there, spinning like the world's worst carousel.
- The horror hurls a heart-shaped box of springs and wires at you. It seems harmless enough.
- The unspeakable horror catches a glimpse of one of its n-dimensional tentacles and breaks down crying. You awkwardly wait for it to get itself together before continuing the fight.
Fumble messages:
Your foe fumbles! It takes X damage.
Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!
You gain (8*Level, cap 400) experience.
You got an item: SQUID disc: The Universe and Your Tiny Place in it (Unspecified Drop rate)
You watch yourself defeating the unspeakable horror. You watch yourself watching yourself defeating the unspeakable horror. Your watch yourself watching... you get the idea.
Event horizons are pretty weird, even when they're not sending cryptic messages about liberation.
