- The words "embiggen" and "cromulent" are references to The Simpsons. (When a character says she'd never heard "embiggen" before, another responds "it's a perfectly cromulent word.")
- The words "de-bigulated" and "re-bigulated" are references to another Simpsons episode, one of the Halloween Specials. (Lisa creates a race of microscopic humans by accident in a science project who shrink her down (a process they call "de-bigulation").
