There are 12 small caves in the Mouths of Darkness which share the same structure. They are opened via the quest Through the Dimensional Rabbit-Hole (specifically the event Alien Geology 101).
When you adventure in one of these small caves you get the message:
- You venture into cave X. So far you have gone through Y sections of it.
On the first 4 ventures you get one of the combat adventures. On the fifth you get one of the one-time adventures and this specific small cave is from then on marked as empty.
Even if the quest Through the Dimensional Rabbit-Hole is finished, the small caves can still be explored until they are marked as empty.
The central cave is an exception, as it can be explored indefinitely. None of the one-time adventures can be had there, however.
