Clepsydra's clockwork key
Plural: Clepsydra's clockwork keys
This is a clockwork key. Confusingly, this key won't work on a clock. Well, not any modern clock. Possibly one of those old-timey water clocks, if you could somehow turn this metal key into water.

When Used in Combat

Against clockwork enemies, kills the foe and gives the message:

In super-slow-mo movie style you leap over your opponent, inserting the key into its one weak spot and turning the key counterclockwise, before completing a flip and landing lightly on your feet in an "I'm ready to go" crouch. As one might expect, every joint, gear, and connector in the entire clockwork enemy falls apart instantly. You stride over and rip the still-warm clockwork core out from the center of the twitching mess.

You got an item: clockwork core Clockwork-core.gif

You gain 1000 XP for style, too.

Against other foes:

Your opponent doesn't seem to be compatible with this key. Perhaps you should try it on something more resembling a clock.

Notes

  • Used to be called "Clepsydra placeholder".
  • Using against other foes does not cause the loss of the item or the loss of a combat round.
