flying polyp

You are fighting a flying polyp.

You're assailed by an invisible monster, and that's just not fair. Luckily, it makes a bit of a piping noise, so you have a vague idea where it is. It doesn't help much, but you'll take anything you can get.
Your opponent attacks ...

Hit messages:

  • It summons a whirling cyclone, tossing you around and bouncing you off a few walls. Or possibly it's a whirlwind. You can't remember if there's a difference.
  • The invisible monster slams into you over and over again. This just isn't fair.
  • You learn that it has feet as it kicks you in the face.

it hits you for X damage.

Critical hit message:

Your opponent has a critical hit! it hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

  • You think it's summoning a cyclone, but it just seems to be blowing around some dust. You whistle a few bars of "Dust in the Wind" to accompany it.
  • It's trying to do something, but whatever it is, it's not successful. Or so you assume.
  • You have no idea what it's doing, but it certainly isn't hurting you. You can't decide if that implies it's making you stronger or not.

Fumble messages:

Your foe fumbles! it takes X damage.

Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!

You gain 760 experience.
