(As a side topic, you can debate whether assuming "Ling" is a Chinese name is acceptable or politically incorrect. Lengthy, outraged diatribes about the topic can be addressed to bgates at microsoft.com.) This is regular ol' kindling: a pile of little bits and pieces of wood. If you had a match you could start a fire with it.
