Dr. Nano |
---|
You are fighting the Dr. Nano.
With a last name like Nano, you really only have two career choices: science or churning out a novel in a month. She apparently decided to go for her PhD rather than her writing debut.
Unfortunately, her time in university politics has driven her to angry science. Which is like normal science, except your swarm of tiny robots dismantles the city instead of curing diseases and stuff.
Your opponent attacks ...
Hit messages:
- She tosses some gray goo on you. You've read enough sci fi to know what happens next. (acid) damage
- Her robots descend on you, dismantling you and rebuilding you. You're rebuilt exactly the same or are you? (psychic) damage
- Her robots descend on you, dismantling some organs you probably needed.
She hits you for X damage.
Critical hit message:
Your opponent has a critical hit! She hits you for X damage.
Miss messages:
- She offers you some gray goo, but you've read enough sci fi to turn it down.
- Her robots descend on you, dismantling you and rebuilding you exactly the same.
- Her robots descend on you, dismantling some organs you're pretty sure you didn't need.
Fumble messages:
Your foe fumbles! She takes X damage.
The seemingly endless stream of nanites finally falters as Dr. Nano collapses! Your take her into custody.
Your league gains 5 Prestige!
You found an item for your League Vault: micromillishirt (See Notes)
You found an item for your League Vault: micromillipants (See Notes)
You found an item for your League Vault: Dr. Nano's labcoat (See Notes)
You found an item for your League Vault: syringe of nanites (See Notes)
You found an item for your League Vault: nanovolt (See Notes)

Notes
- There are a total of 3000 nanites, this foe's HP.
- Combat items that deal percentage damage are capped at 200 damage.
- Stunning is less effective and lasts half as long, with the message:
- Your opponent is too stunned to act, but is shaking it off faster than you expected.
- Using free runaway items gives the following message:
- Dr. Nano uses her newly found spare time to rebuild (half of player damage) of her nanites.
- The nanites slowly build a resistance to the attack types according to how much damage of that type has been dealt. Preliminary data points to
[Total Damage of certain type/100]%
. At some point she becomes immune. - Dr. Nano's labcoat will drop if you deal at least 500 damage to all damage types. Using a free runaway item is needed for the foe to heal.
- it is still unclear how the game picks between 2 syringes of nanites, or just 1 plus a micromillishirt or micromillipants.
- One nanovolt will drop for every player who dealt damage, with a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 5.
- After the regular attack a status message is displayed, consisting of:
- Up to 500 damage: no message
- 501 to 1000 damage: A few of Dr. Nano's nanites have been disabled.
- 1001 to 1500 damage: It seems like her swarm of nanites is thinning, but the ones that remain are scary effective.
- 1501 to 2000 damage: Most of Dr. Nano's nanites have been destroyed, but it looks like the remaining ones will make it an uphill battle.
- 2001 to 2500 damage: Dr. Nano doesn't have many nanites left, but it looks like the remaining ones are the cream of the crop.
- 2501 to 3000 damage: Only a few of Dr. Nano's nanites remain, but they're her finest work.
- Followed by a special attack message:
- She goes on a long monologue about how her nanites learn and change. It sounds pretty bad, but you nod off about halfway and there was probably some good news at the end.
- Dr. Nano is curious about these "spells" people keep using, so she has her nanites drain you of X PP. For science.
- Dr. Nano's nanites convert a bunch of your dihydrogen monoxide into hydrogen dioxide. I have no idea what that means, but you lose X PP.
- Dr. Nano is really curious about spells, but you don't seem to have enough juice to help her figure it out. (if 0 PP)
- A cloud of weaponized nanites crawl over you, reorganizing your organs for X damage.
- A cloud of weaponized nanites crawl over you, dismantling some things you'd really rather keep for X damage and turning them into acid for Y (acid) damage. Talk about adding injury to injury.
- A cloud of nanites goes out and dismantle some random items to build more nanites. The newbies add themselves to Dr. Nano's outer swarm.
- A cloud of nanites dismantles a couple buildings, using them to patch up the weaknesses in Dr. Nano's defenses... and offenses... and fences.
