Jumping over a pit is child's play for a hero like you, even a bunch of pits. But when you fill the pits with bubbling acid, well... it turns out bubbling acid looks better than it smells.
Jumping over these shouldn't be a huge problem, even with the moving platforms and inconveniently-placed saw blades, but the longer you spend over the pits, the more that acid's going to get to you. Even if it doens't melt you (by the way, did you remember to sign your waiver back at the Unbranded Arena? Good.), you'll probably be drinking water all night to replenish the moisture you lost. It's a beating.
- If you've selected Work on your footwork but not Just try some jumps:
You've found a route with N close calls.
- If you've selected Just try some jumps but not Work on your footwork:
You've found a route with N jumps.
- If you've selected both Work on your footwork and Just try some jumps:
You've picked out a route with N close calls and M jumps.
Options:
- Work on your footwork
- Just try some jumps
- Start jumping
- Maybe later

If you chose Work on your footwork:
Footloose and Fancy Free
You move from vat to vat, carefully learning your way as you jump from one obstacle to the next. You should be able to reduce your exposure to the desiccating fumes with the practice. Seriously, you're going to need to rehydrate after this event.
- If you ?:
With your reflexes, you figure out a path between the vats that's less than twelve meters. I know meters are a unit of measure, not time, but it all makes sense in the context I just made up.
- Find a route with 2 close calls
- Otherwise:
Although you're no slouch, they've clearly tuned the timing for these jumps to a super-superhuman level and you have to take it pretty slow. That said, practice makes perfect.
- Find a route with 1 close call
If you chose Just try some jumps:
You've Got The Ups
You try out the jumps, making sure you've got what it takes to not get melted.
- If you have a source of super jumping:
The jumps aren't too bad, actually. You hop along like a kangaroo-toad and pick out a pretty good route for yourself.
- Find a route with 2 jumps
- Otherwise:
The jumps are pretty brutal. You hop along like a Cassidy, but the Cassidies aren't actually particularly well known for their jumping prowess. The practice will definitely help with the main event, however.
- Find a route with 1 jump
If you chose Start jumping:
Acid Pit and the Pendulum
You make your way over the pits, taking enough time to not fall in... but being exposed to horrible fumes along the way.
You leap over the vats of acid, getting X PP thirsty and Y damage etched by acidic fumes.
- If you are defeated:
But that's all you have in you.
- If you run out of PP:
But that's all the power you have in you. You're feeling positively dehydrated.
- If this is the first completed trial of the Dash:
The booth right after the event offers you a drink.
You got an item: Water Drinkadile
- or
You got an item: Garlic Drinkadile
- or
You got an item: Lavender Drinkadile
- If this is the second completed trial of the Dash:
The booth right after the event offers you some refreshment.
You got an item: Hero Dash nuts
- or
You got an item: Hero Dash licorice
- or
You got an item: Hero Dash expresso
- If this is the third completed trial of the Dash:
You've finished today's Hero Dash in <amount of time taken>. Congratulations!
If you chose Maybe later:
Fight Now, Dash Later
No time for dashing right now, you've got crime to fight!
- Does not consume time
