You obviously missed the bit at the bottom of the edit page that reads:

They can certainly be edited, but it would be nice if the edits made sense. Will anybody ever use that algebraic mess that was added? Is it anything more than a somewhat amusing way of showing how complicated the recipe is? Cristiona
I've uploaded a visual guide to the assembly table (http://th.blandsauce.com/wiki/images/6/62/Jetpackchart.gif), and it's both useful AND humorously complicated. I'm not familiar with how I should be presenting this, but obviously only the full resolution display is going to work here.
