dusty deplicator
Plural: dusty deplicators
Remember that warehouse from the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark? Well, this didn't come from there, because that was a painting.

Still, this did come from someplace similar. It uses lasers and advanced things to make subatomic particles do all sorts of zany things, like make copies of things or transmute them into other things.

Well, that's how it's supposed to work. This thing's been in storage for so long, it might not work exactly as intended...

The Wok of Stars

When Used

If you don't have one installed:

You install the deplicator in your hideout. It isn't getting enough power, so you feed it a very hot cup of coffee to create zero-point energy. It doesn't sound like that should help, but it seems to be enough to let the deplicator power up. Now what you should feed it next...

For Science!

If you have one installed:

Pffft. You already have one of these. Deplicators are so last month.

Notes

  • When bought: The shopkeeper knows that you'll only have nothing for a day if he gives it to you, so he gives you a way to make nothing instead, for 10 silver stars.

References

  • The warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark was large and full of crates. It was also a matte painting.
  • "Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball."
  • The purchase message refers to the proverb "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime."
