You are fighting a gryphon.

The wheel of fortune turns, and you find yourself in great jeopardy, facing a gryphon named Merv. It's part eagle, part lion, and all menace.
Your opponent attacks ...

Hit messages:

  • You make the mistake of getting between a gryphon and a horse. It's one of the classic blunders, only slightly better than getting involved in a land war in Asia.
  • The gryphon claws at you and hisses. After the former, the latter is mostly irrelevant.
  • You hear the click of the gryphon's claws hitting you.

It hits you for X damage.

Critical hit message:

Your opponent has a critical hit! It hits you for X damage.

Miss messages:

  • A horse wanders by, distracting the gryphon's attention.
  • The gryphon caws at you and misses. Should have used its claws instead.
  • You hear the click of being cancelled after two seasons. It's chilling, but not damaging.

Fumble messages:

Your foe fumbles! It takes X damage.

Victory! You beat up your foe and win the combat!

You gain 170 experience.

You got an item: targe vert with human rampant Targe.gif (19.6 ± 2%)
